As a Christian school, we work hard to be understanding and work to resolve issues that may arise with our parents and students. However, we must also operate within our policies to ensure all parents are treated fairly.

policies are applicable and are stated in the enrollment contract that all parents sign (including this parent). The Financial Obligation policy states, "I understand that in the event of absence or withdrawal of the student, no refund of tuition or fees, whether paid or to be paid, for the contract year will be granted, except at the sole discretion of the school in accordance with the school's refund policy." The Refund Policy states, "If the student is withdrawn before school starts, summer tuition payments will not be refunded for the months that the student was enrolled, even though school was not in session."
The policies we have adopted are similar to policies of most private schools. They are used to help protect schools as enrollment is used in planning staffing allocations, program scheduling, purchase of textbooks, equipment and supplies, and to cover financial commitments already made. Withdrawing just prior to the beginning of school, or during the school year, is not without problems to the school.
As in other instances, we worked with this parent to come to an amicable resolution knowing, in this case, there were extenuating circumstances.
