Terrible workmanship and then they don't stand behind their own mistakes. No one likes working in the attic of a finished home. I get that. However, that's their business, HVAC. I was quoted a price of around $2,000 for taping and reinsulating the A/C ducts in my attic in an attempt to cool the second floor better. I chose this route as an alternative to the other option of adding a $6,000 ductless A/C system for the second floor. Keep in mind these guys put in the zoned system to start with ten years prior. Now I need a ductless system? This home was built for $880,000 in 2005. It is parade quality everywhere except for where a couple contractors decided to cut corners. We paid the bill immediately because that's how we operate. The heating season comes and low and behold there is moisture running out of the second floor ceiling diffusers. Upon their inspection they found that the pipers weren't actually taped at all and the duct insulation stopped short. Where ever the roll ended that's where they stopped with the insulation. [redacted] thanks buddy. They did attempt to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, now they don't want to pay for the scaffolding and painter required to cover up the water ring around the diffuser in my two story foyer. To top it off, I had a mold inspection done (no concerns) and the inspector disclosed the air handler in the attic was disassembled. We were eventually told that they took pieces from our attic air handler "to dry them out". Sound suspicious? Anyone want to guess the insulation was so wet they didn't want me to see it. They never even told us they took our belongings. Now that it was put back together two weeks ago and was serviced by their guys on Friday, May 1, 2015 the system has a terrible howl. We can't even run it at night. I called this morning and left a message that something still isn't right in the attic. The owner, [redacted], just called me to say they were done spending money on what is now deemed to be my fault and I should find someone else to service my HVAC needs. No problem [redacted]. Will do. Hope your day gets better.
