Scheduling was quick and easy to doThey asked and answewred all questions over the phone and gave us an accurate estimate for the jobThe technician was very personable and informativeA very good experienceWould not hesitate to use them again

After seeing news reports on duct cleaning scams, I was careful choosing a company. I read about Better Air and made an appointment with Steve.
Kenny R was the field supervisor that did the job. He was outstanding. He thoroughly explained the process, showed me before and after photos of each major trunk line that was cleaned. He was meticulous patching the holes that were necessary in the ducts and very clean with his work. He also cleaned our dryer vent, which was a mess. He did offer to sanitize the ducts, but I declined. I would highly recommend this Kenny and his company.

Kenny was very professional, explained everything clearly and did a great job cleaning my vents. I highly recommend his services.

Kenny was very prompt and professional.
He explained everything he was doing and actually took the time to show me his very cool octopus tool cleaning out our ducts.
I saw before and after pictures.
I am very happy with our results and will have Better Air LLC back when it is time to have our ducts cleaned again

I was very happy with the service I received from Better Air. The technician, Mario H., showed up on time and was very thorough. He explained the process to me before he started. Everything was cleaned up when he finished. I would recommend Better Air to anyone as well as recommending Mario H. as a technician.

Kenny R was terrific. He arrived right on time, installed a new elbow and cleaned our dryer duct in less than 15 minutes. Excellent work, excellent service. We will definitely use Better Air again.

Kenneth presented himself in a very professional manner. He is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. I was truly amazed at the results!!

Kenny from Better Air did a great job - very professional, courteous, and quick.

Stanley W from Better Air did a very thorough job of duct cleaning and was a true professional. I would recommend Better Air to anyone.

This was our initial contact with BETTER AIR, but it won't be the last.
All communications (Phone and in person) was a very POSITIVE EXPERIENCE !!
Setting up the appt. was very easy and simple. they called the day before to confirm
their arrival for the next day.
Kenni R was very personable and professional. he explained what he was going to do and suggested we observe just how much was removed from our dryer vent. All went smoothly and he offered suggestions regarding getting a metal vent in the future and gave us his card for any follow up questions.
As mentioned before, we completely satisfied with the work and will contact for any
future needs. just one request..... WE WOULD LIKE KENNI R. TO RETURN IF
POSSIBLE for any service needed.
Thank You,

Jonathan was a very polite and on time and explained all the work he was going to do. He showed me b4 and after video and pictures of my duct work. I highly recommend better air and Jonathan for future work..

I give Better Air five stars. In a business that is service related, it's hard to find a company that is more dedicated to customer service than Better Air. Better Air service technicians spent an extra hour and a half making sure the job was done to our satisfaction. I would recommend them to anybody needing air duct cleaning. Better Air went the extra mile for us, and they will for you too. [redacted]

We apologized to this customer for the inconvenience. We service over 50 customers a week and at times our equipment does malfunction, we take pride in the work we do and we offered to send the customer a full refund as soon as possible, it normally take 30 days for a refund check. Even though the...

customer called 3 months after the service we still offered to re-clean at no charge. When our equipment malfunctioned we did offer a full refund. We sent out the refund 8 days after the incident and the customer called everyday complaining they did not receive it demanding the owners cell phone # to call him for the refund. We apologize again for the inconvenience, we have had very few complaints in the last 10 years of business, and we do our best to complete every job well.

The technician (Mario) was pleasant, thorough, and explained everything that was going to be done.

Review: Better Air has a large advertisement in my local paper ([redacted]) for duct cleaning for 89. 95 (I no longer have the ad, but I think that was the price.)Once they got in the door they tacked on charges until it was $550.72!!!! and he claimed he was giving me a discount.Totally crooked company, if you ask me. However I saw them listed on the Revdex.com approved companies. NOt so.Before he cut new holes in my duct to fit HIS machine, he claimed that my ducts hadn't ever been cleaned (I have a terrible memory). I looked at what appeared to be where there had been openings, and he said, no. Then the NEW cuts that he made looked like the ones I asked about when he sealed them. Only his cuts fit his machine. Once he had the cuts in he showed me photos on his phone, like he was taking them right then, of the dust in there. With my naked eye I didn't see it, but he pointed out the caught dust in his photos. It felt very confusing. I went upstairs and he ran his machine. THEN he asked me did I want the stuff sprayed in to prevent mold and not knowing better I said yes. The grand total with tax was $550.72. I felt so ripped off, but what do you do after the work is done??? Then, my wife got home and told me she had an uh-oh feeling when she saw the truck because it had no identifying markings on the outside!! I wish I had thought to go outside! Creepy. That was on Sept. 17th, 2013. I have the receipt.I meant to write you then but life went on. This morning I got a phone call from [redacted] in [redacted], who said they had cleaned these ducts and dryer four years ago and would give me a 5% discount as a repeat customer, for $275. I was glad they called because it confirmed my uncomfortable feeling of being ripped off and made me write you. They said that they often get business from people who had been "taken" by Better Air. You must take them off your list. Please let me know if there is anything else I should doDesired Settlement: I would like 100% refund and to have the work checked by [redacted] or some other neutral respected company to make sure we are clean.

Response:

To Whom it may Concern,

Better Air only wishes to provide quality service at a fair price. We are members of the [redacted], T[redacted], along with the Revdex.com. All of our reviews on these sites and associations only speak greatly about our company and the service we provide. We do advertise specials in many publications during the year, the special the [redacted]s responded to was an 89.95 special which only included the vents and returns of the home and the main trunklines were an additional 89.95 each. All of this is written clearly in 12 point font in the ad. This special did not state the entire system would be cleaned for 89.95, it was a special pertaining to only a portion of the system. Estimates are provided for all work prior to cleaning and customers have the choice of wether or not to move forward with the service after the estimate is provided. The [redacted]s signed paperwork stating they agreed to clean the system at the price given and the work was performed. According to [redacted] the National Air duct cleaning average is between $400-$1000 depending on the size and structure of the system. The [redacted]s service came to $550 with a mildicide treatment of [redacted] to kill germs, bacteria and mold spores, and a free dryer vent cleaning the price falling within the national average. After speaking to our technician [redacted] he stated that access into the system was only a few inches, and in order to connect our negative air machine we need an access between "8 to "10 inches in diameter, he simply explained that the system was not cleaned to the [redacted] standard without placing the system under Negative air. We wish to resolve this compliant, but we believe our technician performed the job well as he has over 12 years of experience and has received hundreds of great reviews in the past. If another company wishes to charge $275 for all the the same work we performed that is a choice. But the [redacted]s made a choice to use our services and we will not give a refund for work the was performed adequately. All of our technicians follow the only standard there is in this industry which is the [redacted] Standard, and I don't believe [redacted] is a member of the [redacted] neither do they have a Certified air systems cleaning specialist of staff. Better Air is clearly listed as a member on the website.

Thank You,

[redacted]

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I have read the company’s response and still say that they

are deceptive and take advantage of confusing the customer. To advertise in gigantic print that you can

have your air ducts cleaned for their special price of 89.95, and then to put

in 12 font print that every trunk line is another 89.95, is the first

intentional false advertising. The large

print should say what it really will cost to have your home taken care of, not

break it out into many parts and claim that it is a “special” to clean just

vents and returns! The little metal

screens that I clean with my vacuum cleaner??? I would never knowing hire

someone to do that when I do it myself!

[redacted] had a friendly personality and I wanted to trust

him. But (1) he did not explain ahead of

time how many cuts and trunks and what every step would cost me. I only found out after the work was done and

the paper written up, which was too late to say stop, don’t do it. (2)What he did say, which turned out to be

false, was that my home vents had never been cleaned, ever, and that he would

have to make cuts because there were none.

I asked, what are those rectangular sections that are taped? He said,

oh, those must have been old vents, not cleaning holes. As a senior, I have a

terrible memory and was puzzled but didn’t challenge it. When the other company called me a few days later

I realized that indeed I HAD had it cleaned out three years before and that

those other taped rectangles were for the machine that [redacted] had

used! I surely felt taken advantage of,

when I saw that [redacted] had cut bigger holes to fit his machine, but denied that

the other holes were cleaning holes. His

patches were identical to the ones from [redacted], just different

shapes. [redacted] did come check with me

about doing the mildicide treatment before he did it. I groaned that that was also separate from

the other parts! I couldn’t believe it!

I had hired your company to clean my air ducts and instead you nickel and

dimed me, in increments of $100(rounding up the 89, and down the 109)! I was most unhappy, and expressed that to

[redacted], who didn’t tell me of the next $109 charge when I pressed him for what

new amount was my fate for having the work done properly.

I did have him do the work, because I didn’t know

better. I signed the papers that the

work had been done, because it had. But I

felt taken in and it didn’t feel right.

That was no “special.” You say yourselves that the $550.72 I was charged

fell within the regular going rate for this type of service. The ducts for this

home were constructed for a simple 900 square foot house. Although I have added

on to it over the years, the heating ducts only do to the original parts of the

house, which was a standard ranch built in the 1940s.

I was truly surprised to find you on the Revdex.com list, and

didn’t report it. BUT when [redacted]

called within the week offering to come back and clean the vents, including the

dryer hose and the mildicide, all for $275, I placed my complaint.

I did sign the papers.

But I still think this is a terrible way to do business and hope you

will make some sort of recompense for this. Yes, your secretary checked that I

had seen the fine print, which I had not, but I thought, oh well, it will cost

maybe 89.95 more. It ended up costing

over five times what your advertisement implied. That’s criminal, to the

innocent senior simply trying to maintain a safe home.

I seriously question why the Revdex.com would support this sort of

business practice. I still want my complaint on file at the Revdex.com, and hope that

your standing might be more carefully examined.

Everything you did may be legal in a court of law, since he did the work

and I signed the papers. But it was

grossly misleading advertising. I would still hope for (1) some refund for the

quintupled jump in the price , and (2) for the sake of future consumers, a more

honest advertising policy.

Sincerely,

Kenny R came from better air to do my air ducts- Excellent service and job done I would recommend him to everyone Thank u Ken
