Review: In late March 2013 I was involved in a automobile accident that left my vehicle in need of repair. I chose to utilize Betz Auto as I have had previous auto repairs done in a satisfactory manner. On this instance, involving $5k+ of repairs to the front of my vehicle, numerous things, from minor to major, went wrong. It took an exorbitant amount of time for the shop to repair the car. So much so, that my 30 days of rental car reimbursement, ran out. When I finally got the car back, the shop had installed 2 pieces of trim that were incorrect. The parts should have been black, but they were chrome. The shop's current owner's resolution was to paint them. Next, a few days after getting the car back again, a problem with the coolant fan occurred. The shop had installed the radiator incorrectly and it was sagging, causing the fan to strike and rub other parts of the engine. My VW dealership informed me the fasteners that hold it in place were installed incorrectly/damaged. I took my car back to Betz on 2 separate occasions to have them correct this problem. They still failed, and ended up paying for VW dealership to fix properly. At this time, VW pointed out that many of the panels and parts were incorrect and ill-fitting. Specially, a headlight which should have been a factory part, was instead an after-market. Checking the adjuster sheet revealed it should have been an OEM part. Betz ordered a new one and installed. This process took till about mid-June to be corrected.Now, August 2013, the paint is peeling off the incorrect chrome pieces mentioned above, and the front bumper is beginning to pop off the front, with the panel gaps getting wider and appearing to show damage of being forced on. My vehicle was not restored to the condition it was before the accident.I am also unsure if the shop purchased the parts specified by the insurance company, rather opting for after-market parts when OEM parts were paid for.Desired Settlement: The ideal outcome is that a certified restoration shop (VW or similar) re-performs the work to make the car as good as it was prior to the accident, and Betz picks up this bill. I have zero confidence in their ability, given how many chances I have given them to fix these problems.
