Bevmo Reviews (1)

Review: Today 10/11/14 around 12:40pm Myself and my three children visited Bevmo in Modesto, Ca on Sisk Road (store 046 ). We were not greeted when we walked in but the store was fairly busy so I was not to surprised that the men working did not find time to greet us. I had a specific purchase in mind for my husbands birthday so I began looking around the store to locate the beer he loves. We made a pit stop at the ladies restroom for my children and then continued shopping. We looked up and down the beer isles for my husbands birthday gift and still were not greeted or offered any help locating the beer. After a few minutes I found the beer and we made our way to the check out line. There was only one teller at the time so we stood in ([redacted]s) line (Terminal 4) and waited to pay. The couple in front of us had a cart full with wine cases and some liquor so the check out process was taking a bit more time then usual. My two year old daughter was in her stroller while my other children stood with me in line. After waiting a while to pay my kids began to get inpatient as kids do but we continued waiting in line while [redacted] rang up the large order. Seconds later an Employee named [redacted] came to our line, looking at myself and my children he announced out loud that he is open on the next register BUT He did not welcome us to join his line or even say "can I have the next customer in line step over" ... He could clearly see I was next in line to pay but instead he shouts: "If you want kind, patient and nurturing customer service then stay here in his line ([redacted]'s) but if you want inpatient, not kind or nurturing service come to my line". As to say your fussy kids and yourself need to stay in [redacted]'s line as if we were not welcome in his line. I was flabbergasted and in disbelief. I stood in [redacted]'s line shocked and feeling unwelcome and humiliated. I thought checking out was based on who is next in line not who has fussy kids or not, am I wrong ?And sense when can you offer nice or rude customer service ? Isn't customer service just that ... Service ? [redacted] walked the customer behind me to his line and began helping them and continued helping multiple customers after that while I stood with my three children and our 4 small items in [redacted]'s line waiting to be helped. [redacted] then tells me he has to help the man and woman in front of me to their car and leaves the store. I am still waiting all this time to pay and no offer from [redacted] to help me ever comes BUT [redacted] does walk over to the register I am waiting at and gets two bottles of alcohol from behind the register and begins helping the man who was behind me in line (buying expensive liquor) and leaves me again un helped and feeling unwelcome. When [redacted] finally came back into the store he apologized to me for the wait and explained the man he had helped to the car just had surgery and could not lift the boxes. I was understanding and was not mad at [redacted] but I asked why I was being treated differently from [redacted] and told him I was upset with my service or lack there of with [redacted] and his rude behavior. At this point I wanted to just walk out and go to another store which I normally would have done but I was buying a gift for my husband and didn't know where else to go or any other stores that carried the beer he likes.I was so flustered by the time it was finally my turn to pay that I could not recall our ClubBev card number or phone number associated. The lady behind me kindly gave [redacted] her phone number for me to use, Im sure she saw the sadness and disbelief in my face. She was very kind and I'm not sure if she witnessed the entire event with [redacted] or not but she knew I was upset and I'm sure you could validate some of my story with her. (ClubBev # on the receipt is # [redacted]) By the time we left the store my two year old was crying and fussy from the longer then necessary wait to pay and with the embarrassment I publicly experienced I could not even make it out of the store before the tears began to roll down my cheeks. If this is the way customers are treated at Bevmo, I am disgusted and outraged. My children should never have to feel unwelcome in a public store nor should they see me cry from public humiliation and disrespect. I understand the store is not designed for children but it also does not state on the door NO CHILDREN ALLOWED. The door reads no one under the age of 21 can be in the store unless a parent is with them, so that led me to believe we were welcome. If [redacted] does not like children then I suggest not working in retail.I understand it is the weekend and a busy time for sales but that is no excuse to be rude. I expect the same level of respect / customer service as anyone else in the store with out children. I will never shop at Bevmo on Sisk road in Modesto again and will be informing all my friends and family members of this incident. I will also be filing a report with the Revdex.com and posting about this on [redacted].I placed a call concerning this matter to the customer service line at 1:22pm 10/11/14 ([redacted]) while still in tears I left a message on the voicemail asking someone call me back ASAP. I am just so disappointed in the service I received or lack there of and the fact that my husbands surprise was ruined because I was so upset I had to call him and tell him what had just happened in the store. All in all this was hands down the worst shopping trip of my life. I hope [redacted] is reprimanded for his behavior because no one should ever have to feel the way I did today.I look forward to hearing back from someone soon!Desired Settlement: I would like the store to be sited for the behavior of the employee and for children to be made welcome and respected in a public place.
