Review: I dropped a Quilt off to be quilted by [redacted] and asked for a call back when he gets to it with an estimate. He did not call me with an estimate. (I have a witness how heard me tell him this, [redacted]) He called me when the work was completed with an huge bill of $275.00. I refused to pay it - that's approx. $40.00 and hour which is ridiculous. He is now holding my quilt ransom. I want my quilt back with a fair price. I tried to talk to him about it, I even sent 2 previous bills showing how much others charge and he was RUDE TO ME and refuses to budge on the price. He is going to tell you I cursed at him and was rude to him - I was upset at the price that's all. This is the second time he has done this to me. and I am not letting it go this time.Desired Settlement: I want my quilt back and am willing to pay a fair price of $140.00.

I have owned and operated my business since 2006. The lady filling this complaint has been very rude and disrespectful to my self and my business.

The day she arrived and brought a quilt in to be quilted we were having a shop hop. There was a bus full of people. So we did not have much of a discussion.

She filled out the order form and drew a picture on the back how she wanted it quilted. I explained to her that day we were leaving in the morning and it would be a couple of weeks before I got to her quilt. I returned home and quilted her quilt per the drawing. I don't recall telling her I would call with a quote.

Since her drawing was very specific I just quilted as she instructed. I am an award winning quilter and teacher and have quilted for the public for years now. I have never had someone treat me in such a manor. I am not an unreasonable person and do not have a problem working with anyone. I have taken payments for people in the past.

[redacted] Called me on the phone using profanity actually she said she'd bury me. I don't take my name and my business name being slandered lightly.

After the outburst she sent emails saying she made $20.00 an hour and I should take that for my work.

I get paid per piece not an hourly wage. The way pricing is figured is listed on my website. The man she took her quilts to previously quilts pantographs. [redacted] didn't even know what a pantograph was when I tried to explain why she couldn't compare the two types of quilting. This is not custom quilting as I did for her. The pricing is completely different for that type of work. $.06 an inch is a reasonable price for the type of quilting I did for her. She had said she had three quotes for the quilt and then produced a bill from a previously quilted quilt not a quote. Obviously you cannot compare the two. I am not holding her quilt for ransom. But I do not take her behavior kindly.

I didn't make her bring her quilt here. I didn't charge her any more than what I would charge anyone else. It seems she's trying to get something for nothing. She cannot set the rates in which someone provides a service. I have been educated and trained in my profession and deserve a fair wage for the service I provide.I will reduce my rate by $50.00 to resolve this issue but will not go any lower. If she wants to continue this I have a signed contract and since she has already threatened me with her lawyer she can go ahead sue me. I do not wish to waste anymore of my time on this issue. As soon as a cashiers check or money order has arrived in the amount of $225.00 and has cleared the bank I will ship her quilt to her at no charge as she is no longer welcome in my establishment. If she still chooses to slander myself and or my business I will pursue my rights against her slandering my name. I will be out of town until June 23 so if she sends payment I will not be able to ship her quilt until I return.
