Bevwood Carpets

Review: My husband and myself hired Bevwood Carpet to install carpet to our steps and hallway and to install linoleum in our laundry room. We paid $786.00 on 5/16/2013 in full for both jobs one of which was to be completed prior to the end of school due to my sons Asthma. [redacted] from Bevwood after cashing the check, became very evasive about picking a day to install the carpet and as far as the linoleum he said we would have to wash on that, meaning cancel that, due to his inability to get a bright white linoleum we were requesting. I told [redacted] when we gave him a check my husband wanted something white with blue diamonds after he brought additional samples I could see that the not a problem attitude originally displayed was to secure payment after check was cashed now he doesn't have linoleum in other locations that he needed to bring samples of? My husband and I decided, more myself actually, to just pick white in the linoleum and keep it easy, well apparently yellowed stuff was all he had and was unable to get a bright white squared linoleum. I believe he wanted to use only what he had, and not have to order so he would show us 2 samples of white with blue flowers and expect us to pick that, we didn't want flowers. On May 26 [redacted] stopped with a ring of linoleum samples that we picked 2 of, most not that great, no bright white, [redacted] was to call Monday to let me know which one he could get. We never received that phone call, so I gave him another day, no return call I'm assuming that means he can get it. I call him on 5/29/2013 and [redacted] casually tells me he can't get either linoleum we will have to pick another sample and I told him that was going to be tough it was a struggle with picking those from his very limited selection. [redacted] never did produce and additional samples as discussed early on, I don't believe there ever were any to show. I called my husband on 5/29/2013 and made him aware of the linoleum not being available and we needed to pick another sample and my husband said we are going to need more samples then. I told him [redacted] now said that falling apart ring of samples is all he has?? My husband said to call him back to figure out how we were going to proceed with this limited selection of samples those two we picked was a struggle not likely we would find another on that ring. Just by the lack of a phone call to tell us he was unable to get either two we picked and his tone during the conversation was clear [redacted] could care less that he wasn't providing much to chose from and this was turning into a nightmare! When I called [redacted] back that night on 5/29/2013 and told him my husband and I were unsure how to proceed with this limited selections and inability to get the ones we picked his words were "Let's just wash on the linoleum" I said maybe we just need to wash on both jobs then. [redacted] said " I don't have a problem with that" followed by he will be in this area on Saturday and would drop of the check, he never did. I have a copy of the estimate left on our machine we never got a paper copy and a copy of the conversation that was on speaker phone when [redacted] states to Wash on the linoleum job and says he will refund the money his words "I don't have a problem with that". We hired Bevwood for 2 jobs from the estimate $450.00 to put linoleum in our laundry room and $336.00 to carpet the hallway and steps. In the past we had Bevwood put berber carpet in our living room and had not problems I trusted them based on that experience. [redacted] canceled on the linoleum which was a big chunk $450.00 of the payment and never would pick a date for steps and hall installation of carpet so at this point we are waiting for fund to be returned to Chase for services never rendered.Desired Settlement: Refund to [redacted] A.S.A.P. so we can hire someone to put linoleum in our laundry room and carpet the steps and hall.
