l am sad t:hat the above complaint reference was sent to Revdex.comI had tried threetimes to contact the client to discuss their frustration, once while on my vacationduring the week of June Sth after the client's voicernail regarding a request forrefund, a phone call and an email to them the week of June 22nd upon my returnfrom vacationI did not receive a response to any of these correspondences Imade and as such I have not been given the opportunity to help resolve theirconcernInstead they left bad reviews with the lead service we use, the Revdex.com, andthe Attorney General of Washingtonwe have never received a complaint from aclient before and those that have not been [redacted] satisfied we have always resolvedtheir concerns and helped them to feel better about the services in such a way thatwe receive referrals from these client's.I really felt I was going out of my way to help this client as I received their requeston June 2nd and they were very anxious to have the home looked at for somefoundation concerns from the home inspectionl was already booked and trying toget things wrapped up to go on a vacation with nmy family that was well over due.In understanding the need this client had I squeezed some time in my already fullschedule to meet them on the site Friday June 5th around 9amIt is our standardfee structure to charge $for a site visit consultation, which I explained to theclient on the phone and she agreed to thisThe client asked if I would be able toprovide them with a letter or report of some kind regarding the site consultationIagreed that I could provide an email or memo summarizing my observations andrecommendations that came from the site visit I spent a little over hours withthem reviewing the structure and discussing the issues during the site visitTherewere numerous challenges including a ground water and basement flooding issuethat was not pointed out to them before as well as a garage concrete wall that wasfailed and being supported loosely by some interior wallsI discussed with themthe potential costs and additional site work that would need to be done by ageotechnical engineer in order to fully understand the groundwater issues to makea determination of how to retrofit and engineer the structure to fix the issuesTheclient appeared to be quite disappointed and overwhelmed with the issues and potential cost of these structural issues, not to mention the rest of the home whichneeded to be remodeled desperately to be brought up to codes and standardsAtthe end of our site visit the client again asked if I would be providing a letter orreport to themI said that l would prepare an email to them summarizing ourdiscussion and findings and would try and get to them before the end of the day.Unfortunately, I went from this meeting to numerous other previously scheduledappointments and commitments and will be honest got distracted when I finally gothome after the hours of 7pm to finalizing packing and getting the car loaded so thatwe could get off on our vacation and meet our reservationsI had planned to tryand get to the letter over the weekend while traveling, but did not realize that theplace that we were headed had no data or wifi serviceWhen I happened to be inan area where I was getting cell service I checked my voice messages, one of whichwas this client with a message that they were frustrated that I had not gotten theman email yetI immediately tried calling them and left a voice messageI then thenext day took over hours out of my vacation to drive an hour to find a place thathad wifi so that I could email them a summary of my site visit observation anddiscussion I had with them regarding the challenges while on the siteMy emailmemo included a breakdown of the discussion we had onsite, including the issues Ivisually observed arid my recommendation of further investigation by ageotechnical engineer to fully understand the issues so that we could design a fixlalso summarized some estimated potential costs for the retrofitting based on thelimited information of our site visit without further geotechnical research. The info I provided regarding the issues of the water table and how it wasundermining the foundation of the home along with the magnitude of costs to fixthese issues was all new info to the client that helped them to make a decision onwhether to purchase the property or notWhich they chose not to purchase as thiswas my recommendation unless they were willing and able to be prepared to spend$50,or more just to fix these structural issues. It is my feeling that we satisfied the verbal terms of our agreement to make a siteconsultation (which is the bulk of our cost in time) and providing the client with anemail summarizing our observations and recommendations to themHowever, ifthe client would have made an effort to better get in touch with me to discuss theirconcerns I would have been happy to have worked something out with themI amagain sad that it came to a point that the client felt they had to contact your agencyto submit a complaint when we have tried contacting the client several times andhave not received a response from themShould they desire to contact me directlyI would be happy to discuss their concerns.Sincerely, Landon [redacted] B***, P.E
