A Beyond customer service representative called Mr. [redacted] and spoke to him this morning. They listened to
his concerns and at the end of our conversation he stated that he was happy
with our response.
This...
initially started after he received the same expired
career alert twice. He received it for the third time on 7/16/2015. That
prompted him to write an email @ 6:07 PM. The email was responded to at 6:57
PM. (See the trail below.)

Why
are you still advertising this job: Site Manager CI - Huntsville AL
([redacted]), When I attempt to apply it shows the job is no longer
available. So does this mean that none of your other positions are available
also. Also does this mean that you have so few jobs that you dont take them
off your site, if that is the case stop sending me emails advertising jobs.
Very disappointed in Madison, AL - [redacted]

Dear
[redacted], Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, the job opportunity you
are interested in applying for is no longer available. This may have happened
because employers who post jobs have the ability to refresh or remove their
jobs at anytime. Because our job alert messages are sometimes created several
days prior to being sent, we sometimes find that the opportunity has been
filled and removed from the site by the employer before our message reaches
its intended recipient. We apologize for this inconvenience. Kind Regards,

He filed his complaint with the Revdex.com at 7:14 PM.
He received four alerts on 7/16/2015. The one he was upset
about came to Beyond.com through [redacted]. It takes you directly to the
Company website, [redacted]
Corporation, where it is stated that the job has been removed.
We explained that we are a self-service site for our
Employers as well as job seekers, and we receive postings from other job boards in
order to give our candidates the most opportunities possible. We have added the
expired job to our exclusion list.
We then sent him an email with the job opportunities found on
the Company’s website. He also has our
number to call with any other questions or concerns that he may have in the
future.
Our VP of Customer Service responded directly to this customer. Emails are included below. It appears that he unsubscribed from a particular email, but did not log in to his account to disable further alerts. In no case do we require a customer to call in order to unsubscribe. In...
any case, we believe that he is satisfied now. Please see below. That was all. For what it's worth, the service was great; but I did not appreciate the attempt to keep individuals signed up to email notifications. To suddenly not be allowed to opt-out of emails, after multiple attempts; was jarring. Particularly since I was able to for other similar sites. Although the quickness, professionalism, and politeness you have displayed in your response to me now cause me to question my initial assumption.Thank you for addressing the issue on what was otherwise up to that point, a pleasant experience. You have absolutely addressed my complaint and I apologize for any inconvenience my misunderstanding has caused Beyond.com.Sincerely, [redacted].commobile: [redacted] On Sep 16, 2016, at 9:36 AM, Paula D[redacted] <[redacted]@beyond.com> wrote:Hi Mr. [redacted]: I am doing a follow-up on your complaint to the Revdex.com. Review: This Company will not remove me from their E-mails. I have tried numerous times to delete my e-mail from their system but they continue to sent their obnoxious e-mails. they make it ridiculously difficult
to simply remove my e-mail. It should be a simple process like most E-commerce companies, but this company makes it impossible to achieve. The web site is Phillyjobs.com c/o Beyond.com, Inc.Desired Settlement: I hope that you can persuade this irresponsible business to make it simple and easy to remove one's e-mail from their web site. I am sure others are having no success at deleting their e-mails also.
I just want to stop their relentless E-mails.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

This candidate's account had been deactivated upon request. When we received this complaint, we investigated and discovered a "bug" in the software, which was immediately corrected. The candidate will no longer receive email from our organization.
After spending the time to fill out all required information, all my information was changed all around by beyond .com, was very confusing and frustrating, total waste of time!!
Review: I've asked this company for over two weeks now to please remove my email address but they will not complyDesired Settlement: Please remove my email address from your their list and stop contacting me

**. [redacted] has had an active free basic account with
us since September 27, 2010. A review of his account records shows that he has
not purchased a product from us since the account was created. In
addition, we do not offer any consumer products for $39.99, nor do we provide

**. [redacted] has initiated this complaint against the wrong party and is
therefore not entitled to any refund from Beyond.com, Inc.
Review: Beyond.com provides misleading information on their web-site. They inappropriately and without notification collect information related to job searches and then sell personal information it to other companies for telemarketing purposes. The company has false and misleading business practices. The company web-site uses false and misleading advertising.Desired Settlement: I request Beyond.com to remove me and all my contact information from any contact lists or information databases owned or managed by them. I request that Beyond.com not provide any personal contact information about me to any company at any location in the world.

Dear
[redacted],
This
letter is in response to the above-referenced consumer complaint that was filed
with your office. Our company provides a
multitude of career-related services to employers and jobseekers on a network
of over 3,000 websites, and we also post advertisements on these sites that may
be of interest to our users.
Our
research shows that [redacted] set up an account as a job-seeker on 8/7/14, and
last accessed this account on 8/9/14. The
account itself was set to semi-private access, so the candidate’s information
did not cache to Google and was not made public. Our records show that on
8/9/14 [redacted] sent 2 emails requesting that his email be unsubscribed, and that this was
done the same day. Once receiving this
complaint, we have now also deactivated the account as of 11/10/14, meaning [redacted] is no longer able to log in and access his member options.
During
the time his account was active, [redacted] could have applied for jobs or
clicked on links outside of the Beyond network, of which we have no control,
not do we keep records. In this manner,
third parties beyond our control could have obtained his email address. It is
probable also that he is using other job sites in his search as well, and we
have no idea what was done there.
Please
feel free to call if you have any further questions or comments about this
matter.
Review: Only July 25 I informed Beyond to stop emailing me and if they didn't comply, that I'd report them to the Revdex.com for harassment.
Attached is a screen shot of my email.
Ridiculous.
Secondly, I have submitted my email address to two other companies, directly to their database and these are not employment agency companies.
My email address is not listed on my resume.
However, since July28 I began to get an onslaught of emails from other hiring agencies.
It is my belief they were supplied my email address via Beyond, and I am responding to them to stop contacting me or else I will also report them to the Revdex.com for harassment.
Prior to providing my email address to Beyond, I'd supplied it to the other Hiring Company in March of 2014.
During all of these months, I'd not received email from all of these random companies until after I'd supplied it to Beyond.Desired Settlement: I'd like Beyond to stop emailing me.
No matter how many times I 'unsubscribe' or email a company telling them to remove me from their list, only about 1% of them do.
However, as soon as I report them to the Revdex.com and provide the Revdex.com with evidence of me telling them to stop emailing me, the emails stop immediately and forever.
No consumer should have to go through this.
But I will do whatever is necessary to stop the harassment.

Our

last accessed this account on 7/23/14. This account was set to Private access, which
means that only Employers the candidate applies to, and their personal connections,
could view her information. Our records
show that this account email was unsubscribed on 8/11/2014 (which means that
this account was added to our email exclusion list), presumably according to
her request. However, she did not
deactivate her account, which means that it would have been cached by [redacted],

Review: I contacted Utilities.Jobs.com c/o Beyound.com.inc by email over a month ago and requested that they stop sending me emails. I researched there record and found others were unhappy with their service. I found that to also be true in my case. I contacted them again by email and requested to be removed from their email list. In reply they said my fisrt request for removal was noted, and it would soon be done. But weeks later I am still receiving their emails. I will chose another site to seek a job and not their site. They proven to be untrust worthy with underhanded ways that I do not want any dealing with.Desired Settlement: I just want them to honor my request and stop sending me emails.
