B.G. Durite Concrete, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: Durite Concrete had installed my driveway at the end of the summer of 2012. During the spring of 2013, I contacted the owner K.R concerning the premature deteriorating of my new concrete drive that his company had installed. K.R came out to inspect the drive during the spring of 2013. He suggests waiting to see what the next year will bring before his company would do anything and for me to send him pictures the following spring. He informed me that he would bring me some sealer at the end of the summer of 2013 to seal the drive. I never received the sealer at the end of the summer of 2013. We are now at 2014 and I sent K.R the pictures he requested. The only results I have received since the spring is the run around trying to get his company to call me. Finally, midsummer the owner shows up to my house and leaves a pail of sealant, which does not help my deteriorating concrete problem. I previously spoke with the owner K.R and he informed me that they are not standing behind their product but when he was bidding for the job, he swore that his company does stand behind their product but his action speaks louder than his words.Desired Settlement: My desire is for the poor quality product that was installed be replaced with more durable product that holds up to the cold Wisconsin winters.

Response:

regarding the work performed for this customer: the driveway was removed & replaced on 5-17-2001 & 5-18-2001. the invoice was payment was received on 5-23-2011. mr vance did contact our company regarding the pops that were showing up in his driveway. the owner of our company did look at this situation. it was determined that the pops in question were "chert" pops. these are lightweight stones that are in the aggregate of the concrete mix. we are not in control of the allowable amount of chert that is in a design mix of concrete. this is regulated by the state. while "chert" pops are not desirable, they do not damage the structual intergrity of the concrete poured. the redi-mix concrete company does not provide any warranty of any kind. we can only back our worksmanship, which any chert issues would be out of our control. while unfortunate, this is a standard in this industry.

To whom it may concern,

The following spring after the drive were installed the owner K.R came out to look at the drive and he/I agreed that parts of the drive may need to be replaced but he wanted me to wait another year to see if the drive way continue to fail. I see now he has come down with amnesia and does not remember telling me anything concerning my drive not to mention he is arguing on the date, when it was K.R (the owner) putting me off on the time. I see now that time has expired he has amnesia, I felt I could trust K.R because he comes off as a sweet old guy. I see in all essence he were playing me the entire time. The same year K.R complained to me that he has to replace some city work they performed as well and would I be willing to wait, of course I agreed because I felt sorry for the old guy but I see I was played and hope and pray he does not take advantage of any more people. I want my complaint to stay because I reject [redacted] (K.R son) statement given.

Thanks,
