I wanted to make everyone in the community aware of a terrible experience my family and I have had with Brian *** of BH Construction Solutions. Avoid this firm and their owner if you plan on hiring a local small business for any renovation or construction work at your home. Let me share my family's experience with Brian *** and his company.

We had a signed contract in place to remove and install a door at my personal residence. We agreed to this contract March 5th. As March went on, with the pandemic expanding, I tried reaching out to him for updates frequently to get a sense of how it would affect our agreement. Between March 6 and April 9th, I received one phone call and one short text from him, after a dozen or so attempts to contact him. On the sole phone call, he told me he had no plans or update as to performing the work at my home by the contract's end on April 17th. Obviously, local small businesses were being affected by the pandemic, so I had hoped we could resolve the matter by him returning the deposit and perhaps trying again to schedule the job once things in society were getting back to normal again. After his poor communication, I had a bad feeling how this would go.

I sent an email April 10 to ask he schedule the project or refund me the deposit by the stated end of the contract, April17. He replied, saying that he could not finish the project as the door manufacturer had laid off its employees, leaving us with no ability to schedule. He promised to provide me a certified check last week to refund the deposit. As I feared, no check was delivered to me. He breached our contract April 17th by not performing any of the work, and has not responded to any communication to return the deposit ($1,200) since April 10. I have filed a police report, as well as legal proceedings against him.

In the end, this whole story is an absolute shame. This man lives in our North Buckhead community. He had a good reputation. Being part of local small business in my career, I always look to hire and support other local community members in their area of profession when I need a skilled job performed. The coronavirus has certainly caused small business to suffer and not be able to do what they do best. It does not excuse his actions in the end, however. I am left more than disappointed by his actions.

Avoid this man and his firm, as he shown that he does not intend to operate his firm in a reasonable and honest way.
