The work of Mr. [redacted] was unsatisfactory. Homeowner asked him to leave and he did not compensate for subsequent touch up and warranty workI hired Mr. [redacted] to paint a sunroom and kitchen remodel we were contracted to do. It involved some exterior paint as well. He took a very long time to do very shoddy work. He did not adequately caulk joints or fill nail holes. He also did not adequately prepare surfaces, particularly on the exterior. I paid him in full was he was in the process of doing the finish work. Shortly thereafter, the homeowners expressed their displeasure with his work and asked that he not return and we hire others to finish. I sent this information via email to [redacted] and asked what he intended to do about it and he said, in effect, nothing. Now, roughly two months after he believes he completed the job, the exterior paint is bubbling and falling off in sheets. I hired another painter to repair the work. I sent [redacted] a bill for half of that amount. He responded and said he had no intention of paying or doing anything else to rectify the situation. I have since found that other contractors have had similar experiences with Mr. [redacted].Desired SettlementI would like Mr. [redacted] to compensate my company for the time spent repairing and finishing the work he was hired and paid to do.

I asked that a painting contractor come to my house and view my painting needs, give me an evaluation on problems from a previous painter and an estimate on painting. I needed the evaluation to give to a previous painter where there were problems to be resolved. But I a room that needed to be painted and two decks. He provided an inadequate evaluation that I cannot use, charged me $50 and gave me an estimate for painting that required a 50% deposit. I have never needed to provide a 50% deposit for painting services before. He didn't ask me but I wanted to provide all the paint so there was no need to purchase any products for his services. I could provide all the paint. I have never had a problem paying a painter and no one had asked for a deposit before. I think that this is an unethical practice. I knew that he did not want to do this job because he rushed through and hardly looked at my areas to be painted. He made an inaccurate assessment of me and figured because I am disabled that I would not be to pay. This job was over $2000 and would have required a deposit of over $1000. This request for a 50% deposit was unreasonable. This is unethical and illegal in some States. Scam artists use this method and I am skeptical of his business now. This was method he used because he did not want to do the job or did not think that he was capable of providing the painting needs. I do not want to use his services but I want other people to be aware of his practices. I could have provided a copy of my credit rating and proved to him that I am completely able to pay. Also, he did not tell me that he was going to charge me $50 for an evaluation of which $25 was for his truck. On initial contact, I had offered to pay for an evaluation but he never mentioned charging. His "evaluation" was 2 sentences and it had the invoice on the same page so I could not use this.
