Ms*** called us with a question "how much is it going to cost to replace crankshaft position sensor?" *** asked her how she knows that's what she needs for her vehicleShe responded that someone did a diagnostic; *** recommended her to go to O'Reilly Auto Parts store across the street from us
and perform a free computer scan and bring him a reportThe report showed a code for check engine light for which the most common reason/possible fix would be a crankshaft position sensor, indeedNote: “the most common fix”, ONE of the possibilities, the one you start withWe replaced that sensor, and customer leftIt is quite possible that the same code would come back again, but it doesn’t mean that we lied and took the money for the work we did not performWhy the same code can come back? First, parts could be defectiveSecond, any sensor is a part of a circuit; only a partElectrical wiring and connections should be checkedEtc, etcAnyhow, we warranty our work for months, including parts and labor; and we work with a customer till the problem is fixedAnd yes, sometimes it requires many trips back to the shopAs *** had mentioned to Ms***, we’ve already repaired similar problems on Nissans like the one she hasOne time we had to replace both crank- and camshaft position sensors; the other time we had to go with an OEM (dealer’s) part instead of the “afterm***et” after replacements “by warranty”; in another case the problem was solved by dealer replacing the sensor while honoring a recallI can go on and on, but the bottom line is that Ms*** did not give us a chance to work on her vehicle to resolve a problem it had; not always cars are fixed in one shot; yes, you might need more work to be doneWe do not see a reason for a refund, since Ms*** had paid for the part we honestly replaced on the vehicle
Sincerely, *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***

I have the part that was replacedI have everything! To say that I did not let you all finish working on my car is ridiculous! After I wasted gas and money on multiple trips back to your shop just to be told I was using "the wrong gas" for my carI know about your service and how well you operate and that was a reason I chose your shop to begin withI didn't expect THIS situationIt's quite confusing that now via email you want to "educate" me on Nissans...and crankshaft sensor positions but the very last conversation we had you sent me off to contact Nissan to take this problem up with them (after I wasn't satisfied with your service) I had clearly told you I had contacted them prior and they were not an option (I was not listed for a recall)I will visit your shop with all the necessary itemsThank you!
