Took my Subaru Bato the shopThey ran a series of tests and changed a tire for meThe bill was $That was for the tire and for the diagnosticsThe problem was, I was getting a check engine light on the dash and it was idling poolyThe test revealed a code that said it was running leanThey didn't do any work on it but charged me bucks for the testIt could have been a number of things, most of which were an easy fixSo later, I was at a friend's house, and he suggested we look it up onlineThere were a few youtube videos that dealt with that engine code, and one of the common possibilities was that the MAF sensor needed cleaning, and that just takes some special spray and about minutes removal and re-installationNot a big dealSo I said what the heck, picked up some spray at the parts store, did the job, disconnected the battery for a minute to clear the fault code, and it's been over a week and about miles now, and the car is running fine and no check engine light has come on I called these guys back to say they should refund at least some of that money, if not all, and now I'm getting no satisfactionThey seem to think spending bucks for some simple tests with no resolution to the problem is normal, and I should be okay with itWell, I'm not okay with itI believe the honorable thing to do would be to admit they should have done the job in the first place for a minimal fee, and I would be a happy customer, recommending them to othersBut they chose to screw me, and I must let people knowOn a related note, I know a guy who spent over bucks for a new fuel pump in his Soob, and that job takes no more than an hour, and the pump can be found for less than bucksI believe this shop is taking advantage of people and can not recommend them to anyone
