The business owner, Mike W***, took a $deposit, and never returned to do the workHe did not respond to phone calls and all attempts to get a hold of him and get the work doneHe has no real business, and is running a scamHe presents himself as a legitimate businessman, and claims to have all kinds of equipment, knowledge, and a crewIn reality he is just a scam artist, changing his business name every few years and continuing to rip off unsuspecting new customersHe disconnected his phone and changed his number, does not return callsCheck his criminal record in Hanover County and you can see his recent charges for Credit Card Fraud, Theft, and selling stolen propertyThe guy is real [redacted] ***

Big Boy's Tree and Landscaping is a front and a fraud!! Do not do business with Michael W [redacted] or any of his 'so-called' crewHim and his wife are crooks of the worst kind!! They came to my home claiming to have a legitimate business and wrote up a bogus contract with no intention of actually completing work discussedI attempted to reach out to them multiple times with no replyI gave them a down payment with an agreed tentative date with no further communication from the business owner whatsoever despite numerous texts and callsI had to call them from another number to get him to answer When I finally got him on the phone, He claimed the reason he did not come to begin work on the date discussed was due to 'baby stuff.' Why he wouldn't communicate that baffled me and it made me really suspiciousHe then agreed to complete work on another date with still no communication to verify any intention on completing workI asked for the return of deposit with obviously no reply I plan to take legal action PLEASE BE WARY OF ANY CONTRACTOR REQUESTING ANY FORM OF DEPOSIT OR PAYMENT BEFORE WORK IS COMPLETED!

Paid this person over $1,(50% of the total quote) in May to begin landscaping duties on June 13th for a duration of three days, and they were made aware of my deadline for completionIn the week of June 6th, I tried to contact them several times with job changes with no responseI left numerous, increasingly not-so-pleasant messages and sent many emailsall were ignoredBeing suspicious, since I haven't spoken to them since May 19th, I had to drive out to the address listed on the so-called company's [redacted] page so I could maybe talk to a human beingI was greeted by an individual who advised me (using strong language) not to work with these people because they aren't honest; in addition, he said the owner was in jail (hence no contact, but that doesn't excuse the "operations manager's" line being ignored and the zero email response)Heeding his warning, I decided to cut ties with them immediatelyLater that night on the 11th of June, the "operations manager" contacts me from a different phone number stating that a "friend" said I was trying to reach themShe began to explain that their phones got messed up and they have new numbersI proceeded to tell her that I would like a refundShe said "no problem" and that she'll relay my request to the locked up "owner." On the afternoon of June 13th (the day work was suppose to begin), the "owner" calls me talking fast (as usual) and craftily telling me that the $1,I gave them was "non-refundable" (what?) and that they will do the work BUT unfortunately "we have another job this week so we'll have to start yours next week." Irritated because of the many holes in that excuse and the knowledge that my money was virtually gone, I mustered up the ability to give them the benefit of the doubtI clearly stated that the walkway and fire pit were the priorities above all other work to be doneSeveral ridiculous days later (during which all doubt was removed about these people being unbearable liars and slick talkers) and many deadlines missed (and many shouting matches and home visits after hearing middle school excuses for why my stone isn't delivered yet), on June 27th, He said the stone is to be delivered the next day on the 28thThe 28th rolls aroundno stone, and no call from the "owner." So I call on the evening of the 28th of June asking what happenedHe said the reason the stone was never delivered is because the driver from [redacted] drove minutes to an hour from [redacted] , couldn't find the address, decided not to call ANYONE, drove all the way back to [redacted] , offloaded about a ton of stone, and completely failed to re-deliver (let that excuse sink in truck drivers)He calls me later and says (in a confident, fast talking voice) that he is escorting the truck from [redacted] tomorrow, June 29th and he'd be at the property between 9:- 10:AMWell, there I wasat the house expecting absolutely nothingand my expectation was fantastically metSo I called his phoneno answerLeft a messageno replySent a text to the "operations manager"ignoredI finally get a callOf course, it was the "owner" explaining, yet again, why something couldn't get doneHe said the delivery guy got held up until 11:AM so a time of arrival couldn't be determined (believe methis isn't even 80% of the story)At about 1:PM on June 29th, I get a text from the "owner" stating he was minutes out from my location (riiiight)An hour later, I text him asking for his locationhe replies "On GPS says 2:35"So, 2:PM rolls around and he and his wife show up to my property with four young men with a push mower, a blower and a chainsaw to do a huge job that required some special equipment and materialsI was immediately on guard because the young men seemed to not know where to proceed and the "owner" was acting "off" to say the leastHe kept asking me to do a walk through we've done beforetwiceI thought "nope" and told the "owner" I'm gonna call my partnerSo I jumped in my truck, called my partner and everyone that could do something, and informed them of a possible predicament (out of slight paranoia), and then I just waited at an undisclosed location After a few minutes, I call the "owner" and ask for contact info for the stone delivery company (since I wanted zero hiccups)He gets upset saying that I was "micro-managing" him and how he was gonna "walk away" because I'm a "problem" (but didn't he show up with the wrong equipment and manpower?anyway)So, he proceeded to tell me that I keep "harassing" them by calling, leaving messages, coming to their "house" which is also a so-called business, and "threatening" (riiiightmust be my size)He pleaded for me to "leave him alone" and "let me do my job." He said "I'll have your walkway and fire pit done by Friday like I promised before AM." Nowhe said the source companies were supposedly [redacted] in [redacted] , and [redacted] in [redacted] Ok, well, I spoke with both companies, and they had no record of any orders or deliveries under their business nameBut I held this information close; I wanted to hear the circus music a few more timesSo, I shut up (knowing the outcome), and didn't call him until Thursday night, when I inspected the work NOT done (not stone delivered or placedAM, huh) So I called him in a calm voice asking about the statusHe ensured me that he'd have the work done before AM on July 1stI asked about the branches all over the yardhe said he's bringing a bobcat out in the morning to remove them (snicker)Well, it's Friday, June 30th, and not a worker in sightI get an email about 6:AM from the "owner" saying that the delivery is a because of bad weather in the [redacted] area (but it was dry as a bone)At about 8:AM, no stone to be delivered, no workers, and I'm standing in my yard, with my buddy, looking like a fool with my pants on the groundI furiously called the "owner"and of course, no answerI called about a thousand more times with no responseSo, I left a message stating that I'm once again coming to his houseI immediately get a text saying that he put a restraining order on meLaughter ensuedbut at the end, me and my buddy had to pick up a bunch of branches off the yard and these crash dummies are living it up on my $1,But we'll see what's whatWARNING: Big Boys Tree and Landscaping (aka Land Lovers Landscaping) is among the top two worst couple of [redacted] in RVANEVER EVER USE THEMTHEY DON'T EVEN OWN A TRUCK OR A WEED EATER
