Big Cats Handyman Service Reviews (2)

To whom it may concern, Mr***’s accusation is only a half truth, although I can see how he feels this wayThe contract has taken a longer time than expected but only because of the “extras” he has ordered and the extra work we have had to do because of his own interferenceSince the
beginnings of the contract we have had to put up nail plates he had not installed, reframe the frame work that Mr*** and his relatives put up as they were not 16” on center, 24” on center, or any number consistent enough to hang any proper size of drywall(Mind you our original contract had been to put up drywall only.) During the time of work Mr*** took it upon himself to try his hand at dry walling and applying joint compoundWe had to go back over his work several timesThis is kind of like working on an engine when the parts keep getting replaced from Ford parts to Chevy parts. This has caused Mr*** to give us an ultimatum in which two of the conditions were to pay him in more than full of the original contractMy response was neither a threat nor an attempt to intimidateIt was simply the facts of the argument and the repercussions of his final threat to us if he proceededWhat problems there were in the drywall were repair at our own expense and within a few days By tone of his conversations and his texts, he is obviously looking to make any further work a hostile environment as well as an elongated job of our crews constantly repairing any mistake he has time to try his hand atThe contract was not to teach Mr*** how to do DIY construction, but to hang drywall onlyHis truthfulness is found in his own letter. If we had indeed ignored his text and calls and stopped coming into work, how did we promise to finish with no action? How is it intimidation, when there is talk of legal suits? Mr*** is a good person and I am sure he had intentions to try and help us out with the drywall although he made more work for us in the endHe recently had made a hostile work place and has taken the attitude of treating all of our contractors like second class citizens even when we had agreed to negotiate new terms with him to get the job done in its entirety. We have pleaded with Mr*** many times to schedule a time where he can supervise our actions if he likes and he responded with informing us that he already hired another contractorHow does he expect us to honor the contract? It is obvious that this has all been a ploy from the start to use the Revdex.com to further a lawsuit in which he wants an extravagant amount of money at the expense of a small business

I
am rejecting this response because: BigCats makes several false claims in their
response to the Revdex.com, and fails to provide any supporting evidence of their
claims. Not only will I respond to their claims, but I will provide evidence
that their claims are in fact false (something they are unable to do).
Not
much of a surprise in the fact that BigCats refuses to take ownership for their
inability to honor their agreement or provide quality work.  It is easier
to finger point and blame myself for their poor quality.  As of recent
they have begun blaming myself and my father-in-law for framing the basement
incorrectly.  They inspected the basement no less than 2 times prior to me
contracting with them in April of '17, but the first complaint about the
framing and how that impacted their delays didn't come until May of '17 (when I
voiced concerns about their quality of work).  What they failed to mention
in their response to Revdex.com- the #1 priority in discussions with BigCats was
completing the drywall in my garage, so my wife can start parking in there
again.  The framing here was done by one
of the largest home builders in Central Ohio during the home building process
in 2013.  BigCats drywall job in the garage is just as equally poor and
till this day has not been completed either.  Would they also like to
blame professional home builders for their poor work and delays there too? The
new contractor actually found panels of drywall in the garage that had only 1
screw connecting it to the stud (there were multiple dummy screws in the
drywall where their worker completely missed the studs, but left it that way.)
I'm sure given the opportunity, BigCats will say the builder of the home did
not have equally centered studs either.  I will provide text messages where framing issues
were described as minor. A big difference from what BigCats describes in their
response to Revdex.com.
I will take credit for adding 4
patches (no more than 1'x1' of drywall) during the process, but this was only
due to planned heating and cooling duct work we had done during this 4 month
period of working with BigCats.  To give you a timeline- We contracted
with BigCats to start work on April 11th for a 7 day project.  Heating/Cooling
work was slated to begin mid-May. In May, the heating work occurred and duct
work was removed and re-routed to make the heating/cooling system operate more
efficiently in the home.  When the duct work was removed it left holes in
the drywall that BigCats had started putting up. We replaced the holes with
drywall and did leave those 1'x1' patches (which were not mudded) for BigCats.
If BigCats had completed their work in the timeframe they were given, I
would have had no issue contracting those 4 patches out or doing myself (being
that they were so minor).  The only
reason I mention this is because you can clearly see the excuse for the delays
they describe occurred more than 30 days after their 7 day project began and
were not major enough to drag out a 7 day project to more than 4 months.  The real reason for their delays is due to a
plethora of lame excuses and call offs that kept them from working regularly on
my project, not anything that I did. I will provide a separate e-mail with
evidence of the many excuses and delays that occurred in the first 30
days.
Last
but not least- BigCats is essentially accusing me of a money grab and trying to
take advantage of a small business; far from reality!  I will also provide you text messages where I
have requested to discuss my issues with the quality of their work and instead
they offered to skip the meeting in exchange for a $100 reduction in my
balance.  I refused and explained to them
that quality work was more important than a discount.  If I were in this solely for money, I would
have accepted each discount they threw my way (there were at least 2 offers for
discounts when I expressed issues with them not showing up to work or when I
addressed poor quality.) The reason I informed them I wanted no less than $1700
is- that is the quote I have to hire a new contractor to correct their work,
replace materials, and then finish their job they contracted to finish.  BigCats had previously agreed to replace
materials where work was poorly done, but then disappeared soon after, only to
resurface after I threatened legal action.

From
reviews on Thumbtack, this behavior of poor quality and failure to show for
work is a pattern of BigCats and has ultimately led to their dismissal from
that site.  My goal in all of this is
actually completely opposite of what BigCats is accusing me of.  At this point my #1 priority is to protect
future consumers from being taken advantage of by this fraudulent company.  At the least, Revdex.com should give BigCats, Eugene
(Katherine) Boston and Harry Knotts an “F” to make future consumers aware of
their poor service and even worse quality.
Things
I will provide to Revdex.com in Separate e-mail…
1.     Text
messages highlighting the multiple excuses provided for not showing up to work
2.     Offers
from BigCats to reduce their price due to not showing up or poor quality
3.     Information
showing the framing was not nearly the issue they are making it out to be now
4.     Photos
of poor quality work left behind by BigCats
5.     Quote
from contractors of the cost to correct BigCats mess
6.
