When Big City originally discussed with Mr*** the roof replacement on the condo property located at *** W*** Avein Chicago IL, we brought up to his attention the necessity of the old skylights replacement at the time of doing the roof jobThere were two reasons for our
recommendation: 1.? ? ? ? ? ? Old roof had three layers; after removal of all layers the new roof was going to be much lower making proper flashing difficult 2.? ? ? ? ? ? The skylights were very old type / material; from our experience new roofing materials do not work well with such old skylights We offered to replace the skylights for $3,000, as the cost of doing it when the roof was open would be much cheaperMr*** declined our offer Therefore, in our contract, we specified that we do not take any responsibility for old skylights and possible leaks after roof replacementWe finished the roofAs we prognossed, the skylights leakedThat is when Mr*** asked us to replace themThe contract was for $5,000, as we had to open the newly installed roof to remove and replace the skylightsWe deposited the $2,down payment received from Mr*** on November 21, 2017., two days before the ThanksgivingWe placed the order right after the HolidaysWe were told that the waiting time was from five to six weeksAnd that it what we told Mr***We are not sure why Mr*** expected the skylights to be custom made in five or six daysWe can only guess that it was a miscommunication We protected the openings with the tarps, so there are no new leaks caused by skylights removal We are waiting for the skylightsAs soon, as we receive them we will install them, weather permittingWe still have about two more weeks to finish the job.Thank you.?

Mr. [redacted] declined our offer. Therefore, in our contract, we specified that we do not take any responsibility for old skylights and possible leaks after roof replacement. We finished the roof. As we prognossed, the skylights leaked. That is when Mr. [redacted] asked us to replace them. The contract was for $5,000, as we had to open the newly installed roof to remove and replace the skylights. We deposited the $2,500 down payment received from Mr. [redacted] on November 21, 2017., two days before the Thanksgiving. We placed the order right after the Holidays. We were told that the waiting time was from five to six weeks. And that it what we told Mr. [redacted]. We are not sure why Mr. [redacted] expected the skylights to be custom made in five or six days. We can only guess that it was a miscommunication. We protected the openings with the tarps, so there are no new leaks caused by skylights removal. We are waiting for the skylights. As soon, as we receive them we will install them, weather permitting. We still have about two more weeks to finish the job.Thank you.
