Big Fish Bike Rentals Inc Reviews (4)

Our shop has done everything reasonably expected under the terms and conditions of our warranty, as well as gone beyond that to accommodate the customer's complaints. We respectfully disagree with the customer's position and ask that this case be closed.thank you.

[redacted], Please find attached all the invoices for [redacted]. They clearly show that we provided her with every bit of professional automotive service.  when she came to our shop in June 2014, all she needed were rear brakes pads, which we replaced. Please note that we annotated a memo in regards...

to a missing bolt on one of her left rear caliper. Also please note that we only charged her for one hour (AllData and Mitchell require one hour labor) and we discounted our labor rate from $118.47 to $100/hour.   After about a month, she came in for work on the front brakes which we replaced at the reduced labor rate of $100/hour.   All our work is backed by a 90-day warranty on labor. So when she came back in May 2015, we gladly gave her new pads and rotors under warranty, but we had to charge labor, as she was way outside the 90-day warranty period.   As you probably know, some people ride their brakes very hard, and thus they tend to overheat and warp. I am not saying that is what she did, but to come back in about a year wanting to get things done for free is not going to happen.   We do brakes day I and day out. And if I tell you we are perfect and score 100/100 I will be lying to you. We do occasionally make mistakes, and when we do we gladly admit to it and get the customer taken care of out no cost to them. But when the car used outside the "norm", we cannot be responsible for the unusual wear and tear.   Thank you.   [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:  What the Meineke owner  fail to mention is that I came back within the 90 days, and they blew me off stating no issues found, and one time adding brake fluid stating it was probably already low before the brake job because my brake light came on.  It was only after I got a diagnostic of my brakes from another company because my vehicle tires would shake severely when braking.  I had my tires rotated several times, put new tires on and finally I was told it was my brakes not my tires.  With this information I again went back to Meineke and gave them the report.  I stated to the owner that he had driven my vehicle a few weeks ago and said he did not even feel the tires shaking when he hit the brakes and I did not see how he could not.  Instead he offered me some explanation and quoted me a repair job costing $725.00.  With the new diagnostic report, he drove my vehicle again and this time he noticed tires shaking while breaking and agreed to replace the brakes and rotors.  Please note the brakes and rotors were under warranty anyway so the stalling was to avoid performing labor and not getting paid again.   I pasted a paragraph from his response below which is how I was treated.  I'm 62 years old and I have owned several vehicles during my lifetime, and I have never had issues with brakes; however, as you can see below he puts blame on his customers even though he said I'm not saying she did this!!!  In conclusion, they stalled until I was upset and got additional evidence that they had not fixed my brakes properly.  Again, they never considered my safety which is still a big concern to me."As you probably know, some people ride their brakes very hard, and thus they tend to overheat and warp. I am not saying that is what she did, but to come back in about a year wanting to get things done for free is not going to happen".

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I have attached some documents, and have more but the system would only allow five attachments.  I will go back into the complaint to see if I can submit more.  I attempted so many times to get my brake job completed with no success.  I spent $823.08 after it was all done plus my time and effort to get this corrected.  This Meineke location is very dishonest with deceptive practice to it's customers.
