Review: MY husband brought my 2005 Ford Explorer into there shop on Monday, March [redacted] 2014. It was make a loud noise. I was told by [redacted] that it was my timing change and that it would cost $1600.00 and take 3 days to repair. I didn't get my car back after 3 days. [redacted] kept telling my husband and myself that it will be a few more days. I let [redacted] know that I was paying for a rental car and that it was getting very expensive. I didn't get my car back until Friday, March [redacted],2014. [redacted] had taken my car to a different mechanic a place called Euro [redacted] repair [redacted]. He did that without my knowledge. When we went to get my car. They tried to charge us more than what was previously stated. Plus I had incurred a $499.92 care rental bill, because it took them so long to fix my car. To make matters worse. They broke the hood of my car. My husband brought it back to [redacted]. They said the [redacted] had broken it. HE brought it to [redacted] He said that is how he got my car. He wanted $50 ti fix it. My hood was not broken, until [redacted] got a hold of it.Desired Settlement: I just want the hood of my car fixed. With no more cost to me.

Response:

I'm sorry the response never went through so I am going to try again to explain. [redacted] did Not leave her car with myself or my manager she gave her car to [redacted] off premises she never spoke to anyone in big G auto about her vehicle nor was a work order ever written for repairs on her vehicle the first time I met [redacted] she walked onto my lot asking where her car was I informed her I had no clue who she was or where her car was. We contacted [redacted] who had the car parked on the back street to my shop he asked me what the noise sounded like in the engine I walked to the car told him what the problem was and that we did not do that kind of work in my shop .at that point [redacted] took the car to [redacted] and they did the job. [redacted] also informed us that [redacted] still has a $100 balance with them so I never charged any money to this customer or got a signed work order to check this vehicle I never touched her car so why would I be responsible for anything on her car you would want to speak to [redacted] about any damage to her car not Big G auto since they did the complete repair

Sincerely,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved

I brought my car to Big G auto. Not [redacted]. If I knew that my car was at [redacted]. I wouldn't walked Into big g auto asming were my car was. If big g could not fix my car. Then I should of been told that. My huzband did bring my car back to [redacted] to fix the hood of my car.

My husband brought my car back to [redacted] to fix the hood of the car. He was told that [redacted] must have broken it, because it was like that when he brought it to them. My husband brought my car to [redacted] the next day and [redacted] wanted yo charge him $50.00. The bottom line is I brought my car to big g to be repaired. They are liable for the damage to the hood of my car. As for the some mysterious hundred dollar balance. I was told by [redacted] that it would cost :1600.00. That I needed to bring him $500.00 to get the parts and $1100.00 for labor. I brought the $500.00. The next day and paid the $1100.00 on that Friday when I got my car back. They wanted $55.00 more and my husband told them that we were told $1600.00. So they told him to forget about it.

I do not trust big g auto to fix my hood properly, because they are angry that I reported them.[redacted] wanted to charge $50.00 to fix the hood then I will take that $50.00 and pay someone else to fix it.

Response:

you see she keeps changing her story first she said she gave the car to [redacted] to fix now in the reply she says she gave the car to big G auto .[redacted] is not a representative of big G auto ,only my manager and myself are allowed to conduct business with customers she at no time contacted me or called my shop for all the time she gave [redacted] her vehicle if you gave your vehicle to a repair shop wouldn't you call them to see the status of you vehicle ? she is claiming [redacted] broke her 15 year old hood shocks those shocks were way past there replacement time and I honestly doubt lifting up a hood was going to break them they were old and warn out .did she also tell you she cam back the next day after [redacted] repaired the vehicle claiming they did not put oil in the car and had to add 4 quarts when [redacted] check the vehicle the car was over filled by 4 quarts of oil . like [redacted] and [redacted] told [redacted] that these hood struts were old and worn out and offered to install them for free if she paid for the parts.like she has stated many time how she gave her car to [redacted] then to [redacted] at no time was big G auto told to check or did [redacted] fill out and sign a work order to check her car .I would like her to provide a signed work order that authorizes big g auto to check her car!
