As I informed you earlier, this is the first time that we have had to respond to a claim against our family owned business. I appreciate the platform that you provide at the Revdex.com as a service to the community. Please allow this email to serve as our formal response to claim # ***
that was submitted by *** *** for a plate that she received on May of 2015. First and foremost I would like to respectfully disagree with this complaint and its validity in its entirety considering the source that it came from. Mrs*** had applied for a position at our restaurant and was not selected for employment. She came into the restaurant several times inquiring about her application and was informed that the position had been filled. This apparently upset her and we were accused of not hiring her because of race (including on the date of this complaint). I assure you that this is entirely not the case as we have several employees in our organization from various ethnicities. We have worked very hard as a company to earn a high level of respect in our community by earning the honor of placing in the cities top for both burgers and BBQ. We take pride in our product and serve our customers with the utmost respect. Ms*** repeatedly stated on this particular day that we had "horrible customer service". What's interesting is that she stated this before she was ever even served. At our restaurant we take your order at the front register and then seat the party. We do this routinely with each and every customer. We would never tell a customer to "move and go outside to order". Firstly that is incredibly rude and would be detrimental to our business. Secondly, it goes against our entire dining system. We never take orders at the table at Big Lou's unless it is an add on after the party has already been seated and wanted something else (ieanother entrée or dessert). In response to the second part of the complaint Ms*** states that she "order a brisket plate it came out to $and some change" and that she received a "child's plate and it didn't have what I order and my best friends food was wrong to". Firstly, we do not serve children's plates for BBQ, it comes on an oversized 14" plate. Secondly, she later states in her complaint that she "took a picture of my plate and it have pieces of brisket On there". Isn't that exactly what she stated she ordered?a brisket plate. Finally, pertaining to the price, it averages on the lower side of the industry standard and is clearly marked on the menu board above the register I am sorry to hear that Ms*** had an unsatisfactory experience at our restaurant but I feel she came in with a purpose to file a complaint and to let us know her frustration Thank you again for giving us this opportunity to share our side of the story and to protect the reputation that we work so hard for to build Respectfully, ~*** *** Owner
