Big O Tires #4204 Reviews (12)

Went to the Big O Tires location on [redacted] last month to purchase new tires, spent nearly $600 and when I needed a tire fixed a month later due to a nail, they told me "I declined the warranty". I did not decline anything, when I looked at my receipt, it showed on their the warranty description and cost what I didn't notice was that they didn't charge my card the $21.42 for the additional warranty so now I have no warranty on any of my tires. He then told me it would be $179 to replace the tire, I paid $116.99 a month ago. On top of that he stated he couldn't even repair it that it was in the "rim" of the tire. It wasn't and after having my boyfriend come over he pulled the nail out successfully which hadn't even gone through and didn't affect the tread or edging. I am so disappointed with this company and fully regret purchasing my tires from them. Unless you want to be scammed by a company who just came to the area this year, DO NOT PURCHASE TIRES FROM BIG O TIRES!! They WILL scam you, and their customer service is very poor. The gentlemen I spoke to on the phone coped an attitude with me and was completely rude. I will never spent another dollar at Big O Tires. They've lost yet another customer and there is a reason why there is nothing but complaints on the Revdex.com website for them.

Big O Tire on Hunt Hwy is running quite the scam. I brought my car in for an oil change a few months ago and asked if they could determine the cause of an antifreeze leak. They said that my water pump was leaking and quoted me $400 to fix it. They said the part was $120 and the rest was for labor. I called an auto parts store down the street who quoted me $60 for the exact same part. My dad looked at the car afterwards and found that the leak was coming from a HOSE, NOT the water pump. He replaced the hose and the leak has completely stopped. Then I brought it in for another oil change and they tell me that I have an oil leak but they don't know the cause. I took it to another shop who discovered that the bolt in the oil pan that gets taken out to drain the oil was put in improperly and it stripped the threads in the oil pan. I had to pay around $100 to have the pan rethreaded and a new bolt along with oil and a filter. Big O Tire is the ONLY place I had been bringing my car to for oil changes the last couple of years and I saved ALL of my receipts to prove this. Hence why they played dumb and told me they didn't know the cause. Because THEY caused the lead due to INCOMPETENCE on THEIR end. I will NEVER bring my car there, even if I broke down in their parking lot. They are incompetent and make every attempt to rip people off. I will be filing a formal complaint soon and demanding that they pay me back for the work that had to be done to fix my oil leak that THEY caused. My word of advice - STAY AWAY FROM BIG O TIRE ON HUNT HIGHWAY. I made sure to pass this along on social media as well since I have many friends and family in the area. Something needs to be done to correct this.

DO NOT GO TO BIG O TIRES! MY 92 year old step father went to the Big O on Hunt Hwy in San Tan Valley AZ to have a battery checked (while we were gone, of course--grrr) When he picked up the car he was presented with a bill for $2900.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had done all kinds of work with out his approval or understanding of what all was being done and how much it was costing. He had to take out a BIG-O credit card to pay for it! This is twice his monthly income! Not only that, but we have had to take the car back, NOT ONCE, but TWICE, because the car was over heating and stalling. Now they say he needs another $650 worth of work!! His car is a 16 year old Lexus with 152,000 miles and worth less than what they charged him!!! They took advantage of an elderly, hard of hearing man, who BY THE WAY is a WW2 veteran. This is disgusting!! We are not confident that we can even continue to drive the car after having to take it back twice for overheating and clanking.

I do not want other elderly people are not taken advantage of by these unscrupulous business practices.

I have...

reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

Due to the fact that this an auto repair shop that cant fix vehicles properly in the first place, I feel as though they should reimburse me at least $500 due to the fact that this was highly inconvenient to me and that I had to return five or six times just so they could finally fix my car properly. And as soon as I picked up my car the check engine light turned on for a speed sensor and that is connected to the transmission which they were working on.  And my alignment is still off. I refuse to return to this shop and will be taking it to another big o tire so it can be fixed properly.

Regards,

We have made several attempts to contact the customer and are awaiting a response.

Contacted customer to bring vehicle back in, fixed seals put customer into a  rental car at no charge to them during their time without the vehicle. Contacted customer the following day and customer stated leaks were gone and they were satisfied.

HelloIm called [redacted] I did not get ahold of her but left a message that I did recive her e-mail and that I would be happy to refund her money on her wheel locks. Thank you for your help getting that e-mail to me sorry for the delay. Thanks again Joe H[redacted]...

Spoke to customer and came to a resolution of refunding part the requested amount.

Review: I had my vehicle towed into the shop on 03/35/2014 to have the front end of my vehicle inspected tightened up and aligned. I was there in person when my vehicle was dropped off and spoke to the manager of big o tire and I had explained that everything with the supension was brand new and left loose and that I needed the whole front end inspected all of it tightened up to specs and the front end alignment done I received a call the same day it was dropped off that they would need to get shims for the front end ok no big deal was told car would be done next morning. Ok next morning came never received any calls I just figured part hadnt came in yet so anyways the shop didnt call me until 03/30/2014 and upon speaking with them they informed me my car had been done the same day it was dropped off huge mis communication on there part ok no big deal I called tow truck and had it picked up. when the vehicle was dropped off back at my house and I pulled it in garage I inspected what the shop was to supposed to have done and to my disbelief not one single part of my steering was tightened shims that should have been installed on both driverside and passenger side control arm were all on driver side so I imediately called the shop and the manager kept talking to me in circles saying how they dropped the ball and didnt tell the mechanic to inspect the front end and tighten up everything now with me having mechanical knowledge I know for a fact you cant do a wheel alignment on any car with having every steering part loose so what exactly did I pay for between the towing and the bill from the shop im out over $200.00 and now I guess I have to tighten everything up which is now going to throw whatever alignment they supposively did out of wack.Desired Settlement: I want them to refund me what they charged me for the work they were supposed to do and I feel they should have to reimburse me for the cost of the towing

Review: I have gone here quite a few times. Lately the service has been ridiculous. I brought my car in about a year ago for a rotate and balance and my car has locking lug nuts and asked the representative to alert the guys working on it to manually remove them because if you use the power tool it will ruin them. I had just bought my locking lug nuts a few days prior because someone had loosened them on my car destroying my rims and almost my vehicle itself. The rep tried to explain to me to get rid of the locking lug nuts because that would never happen. It is my vehicle and that did happen to me, so the locking lug nuts make me feel safe. They called me about an hour later explaining that my lug nuts were torqued to tightly and they stripped being taken off so I would have to pay 20$ extra for a whole new set. I am 130lb , 20 year old female. I torqued the tires myself , there is no way I had the power to strip them and I have put them on and off for various repair reasons myself and never stripped them. My guess is they used the power tool I specifically asked them not to. In my opinion that is straight up laziness. Now most recently I went about a week ago with a nail in my tire and was told that it was unfixable and I needed to purchase a brand new one for 200$. I went ahead and bit the bullet (because I cannot fix the tire myself). Again I asked they do not use the power tool because it breaks them. When I got my car back they had broken the key to my locking lug nuts and one of the lug nuts was a completely different size than the rest (telling me they stripped them yet again). If I would have got a flat tire and had the broken key for my lug nuts (which they never mentioned to me that they had broken) I basically would have been screwed. This has cost me yet another 32$ for a new set of lug nuts and I am furious. I do all the work on my car myself and Big O Tires was pretty much the only place I trusted besides my garage. That is now out the window.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for both sets of lug nuts I had to replace because of this company.

Review: I took my car in on 5/20/2014 to get an oil change and four wheel alignment. Then they took me home. I got a call a couple hours later stating that they discovered $1700 dollars in repairs needed. Then a couple hours after that I got another call stating that the price of repairs went from $1700 to $2745. I told them to fix it due to the fact my wife drives all day for work. After I got yhe car home supposedly repaired. I wake up the next morning to find an oil stain on my driveway. I took it in and told them that it was leaking oil and they assured me it was not. So I went home only to find a couple hours later transmission fluid all over ny driveway. So I took it back again.they took the car in the back to check it and they told me that the transmission was not leaking so I went home and the next morning I found another transmission leak on my driveway. so when I woke up this morning I took the car back again and they checked it again and it turns out that they replaced the wrong part so I sat at Big O tire four 5hours while they repaired itand after I got home I went out to my car a couple hours later and there was a nother and transmission leak on my driveway.so my wife took the car back again and it turns out that they replaced the wrong part again. So now I have to keep my car there over night and they said it will be repaired tomorrow.Desired Settlement: Partial refund
