Big O Tires #4205 Reviews (4)

After purchasing NEW tires in december of 2015, we went to rotate them at home only to find that Big O had given us back the wrong wheel lock key We took the Vehicle down to Big O to have the tires rotated and dealt with Jeff First complaint is they tried to get rid of us by claiming the wait would be 1/hours We left the vehicle with them and soon heard that they could not rotate the tires as they did not have a wheel lock key to remove our tires Jeff claimed that he could not do anything to help us as the Manager was home sick and he had no ability to use one of the keys on site I asked him to provide us a key as they had given us the incorrect key back and he chuckled saying the vehicle had not been to Big O in month and how would a wrong key be their fault He then ask who else had worked on the car and why had we taken so long to find the issue Jeff's attitude was poor at best and extremely rude as to our request for a replacement key

Im sorry for the inconvenience, please contact me directly and I will take care of getting you a replacement key, please contact me either by email or phone. Eric F[redacted] ###-###-#### email [redacted]@yahoo.com.

Review: On June 20, 2014 I requested to have my car tires rotated and the oil & filter changed. After one hour of waiting I told the service person to cancel the oil change because it's taking too long. They told the mechanic to finish tire rotation and end the work.

The next morning I started my car and noticed a yellowish icon was lite on the dashboard of my vehicle. I checked the manual, it was a 'check engine' warning. On June 23, 2014

I took my vehicle to an independent auto repair garage in Mesa, that I used in earlier years when I lived there. They performed a diagnostic analysis that showed a code 443, an inoperative purge flow. They cleared the code and checked the EVAP connection, it was disconnected. They reconnected it and ran the EVAP test, it passed. The EVAP connector was not loose, it was physically disconnected. I contend that the mechanic at this Big O Tire facility disconnected my vehicle's EVAP connection.Desired Settlement: The manager at Big O Tires should investigate if similar complaints have occurred and identify if a clerk/mechanic is involved in such practice.

I paid $105.00 to have the diagnostic analysis, I want that amount of compensation from Big O Tires.

On 07-04-15, my wife and I returned to our truck from shopping. I noticed a nail in one of our tires. It was stuck firmly in the second tread away from the sidewall. Based on my years of driving and prior experiences with nails in tires, I could see no reason that the tire could not be repaired. The hole was not even near the sidewall of the tire. My wife volunteered to take the truck in and we saw that the Big O shop at [redacted] was open for business. I was confident that this would be a quick and easy fix.

When she arrived, she was told that the tire could not be repaired. The man told her that it was due to the angle that the nail had punctured the tire. Never heard that one before. Taking him on his word, she agreed to have the tire replaced. Next, she was informed that two of our other tires needed replacing. He told her that there would be an imbalance if two newer tires were mixed with two older tires. Thinking she was doing me a favor, she agreed to buy three tires, since she was told that the fourth was fine. Big O was running their buy 3 get 1 free special at that time. However, she was told that was not an option for our truck. So, like a lot of us, my wife felt as though she would be doing the wrong thing by not purchasing the tires she was told she needed. The tires that were replaced were of good quality and had about 30,000 miles on them. The tire with the hole could have been repaired. She was definitely misled, but I suppose some people would argue that is her own fault.

While she was waiting for the tires to be mounted, they told her that we needed a new cabin filter for the truck. She agreed to have it replaced, thinking she was doing me a favor after being told it needed to be done. Remember, this is July 4th. On June 30th, I had the filter replaced! So, they told my wife that a filter that was 4 days old needed replacing!

I reviewed the bill on July 5th and could not believe that there was a cabin filter on it. I was already angry that they said they could not repair the tire. I was not happy about the three new tires. But to recommend replacing a 4 day old cabin filter? I guess if they would cheat on the tire repair, they would cheat on a filter!

I went to the shop on Sunday morning where I spoke with the acting manager. I asked him to come outside and speak to me. I explained the situation to him, starting with the tire that could not be repaired. Of course, the tire was gone, so I had no proof and he was not willing to provide an explanation. I asked him if our new tires qualified for their sale price and he gave me a terse “no.”

Finally, I told him about the cabin filter. He seemed to question my truthfulness so I showed him the receipt from when I purchased it on June 30th. He said that the filter was probably dirty from the recent dust storms. I asked him if he really believed that and he replied “well, your wife agreed to it.” And that is how the rest of the conversation went. He accepted no blame. He accepted no accountability. I told him that what happened to my wife was a theft and that he and his employees lied to her and took advantage of her. He said nothing. He offered to refund us for the filter, which I did accept. He said that was all he could do. When I asked him if a further refund or even an apology was in order, he only stared at me.

The lack of integrity displayed during this incident is disgusting. Clearly, they took advantage of my wife. Sadly, with the filter, they even tried to steal from her.
