My name is *** *** the manager at Big O Tires in *** *** *** I have been dealing with *** *** from the very beginning*** *** recently sent a complaint about some service we have performed. The recent timeline of events are as follows: 1st we put a set of
tires on her Jeep April 7th and noticed she needed front brakes while we had the wheels off the car. Next we put the front brakes and rotors on April 28th. Nearly a month later on May 27th she started complaining of a brake squeak so we inspected all the hardware. On June 1st she returned still complaining of the squeak so we just warrantied out the front brakes and rotors. On June 7th we machined the rear drums because after test driving the car with the customer we determined the noise is coming from the back. After this visit she takes the car to the people that originally put the rear brakes on for a different set of eyes to look at the car and their response to her was that "someone put a cheap set of brake shoes" on her car, not knowing she was setting them up for a stupid comment like that. She returned on June 15th telling me this story and told me to put rear brake shoes on her Jeep. I started the quote for rear brakes with "you don't need rear brakes" from a safety standpoint She requested me to put new brakes on her Jeep anyways. June 15th is the last interaction I have had with her, leading me to believe everything is good. I took my family on vacation over the 4th of July week and come back to this e-mail. She sent an email to Big O corporate on Saturday July 1st complaining about the squeak. We were closed Sunday the 2nd, I was on vacation the 3rd and we were closed the 4th. I received the email from the Revdex.com the morning of July 5th. I had little to no time to respond to this situation before she filed her complaint with the Revdex.com. I'm back from vacation now responding letting you know that her request for $is not happening. We sold her tires that she needed and called us to get, front brakes that she needed and rear brakes at her request. As far as I knew everything was good. The rear drums that she said saved the day at another shop I never sold her. If you have any follow up questions or need anything you can either email me on this email address or call me at the shop *** Thank You, *** ***

Revdex.com:
My husband met with [redacted] from Big O yesterday.  The two of them agreed that Big O would pay the last amount that I paid to the other shop for the final and correct repair of my wheels/brakes, which was $172.30 (I believe, I do not have the invoice in front of me at the time I am writing this).  While I will go ahead and agree to this just to move on, I must say that I'm disappointed that [redacted] didn't at least offer to refund the amounts that I paid in labor charges over the last few months.  Clearly, the parts that I paid for were indeed placed on my car, but paying labor to a company to continue to put on parts for services (that they supposedly specialize in) that I didn't need is not good business practice.  Charging customers to guess until they hope they get it right, causing me to have to come in repeatedly  is something I won't return to Big O for in the future.  A trip to a mechanic's shop that I have used in the past and trust got the job done in 1 visit.  [redacted] verbally told my husband during yesterday's meeting that he would write a check on Friday, July 21 for this agreed upon amount and I agreed that I would close this complaint.  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
Regards,

[redacted] from Big O Tires in [redacted] responding again to the complaint from [redacted].  On July 10th I left a message on [redacted] phone to call me at her convenience.  Later on July 10th I had a conversation with her husband opening myself to a face-to-face sit down where we could get together and solve the situation.  I let him know Monday that I was here everyday this week except Thursday.  He didn't commit to any specific day and I was informed through the email from the Revdex.com that he would be here Wednesday evening. He not only didn't show or call that night, but didn't come any day this week.  I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do here, but I am genuinely willing to talk any day.  I'm off Thursday again next week so maybe I'll see them someday next week or they'll just close this complaint. Thanks,   [redacted]
