I am absolutely furious after my last visit to this location. I have been a loyal Big O tires customer for over 4 years and keep all my tires under warranty through Big O. No one else does my tires, ever. After moving from Orange to Pomona (and in with my fiance who is a mechanic) I stopped by Big O to have a flat tire replaced. (The tire had been put on by this location incorrectly using an impact tool and it stripped my nut and housing). I brought the nut in to show them that they had used the impact tool incorrectly making putting my spare on difficult for AAA. I bought a new tire because the last one was bald, they put it on. They replaced the nut and housing but then told me I needed new brakes and rotors. $400. A guy working there brought me a rotor from the back showing me heat cracks and white spots on it saying it needs to be replaced. He also said my front and rear brake pads needed to be replaced. My fiance texted me and told me to leave the shop and bring my car home. He took my new tire off and looked at my rotors with me. There were no white spots or heat cracks. My fiance also showed me my brake pads and how they were thick, not needing replacement. Just to confirm I took my car to another mechanic to inspect my brakes and rotors. He told me the same thing. There is nothing wrong with my brakes or my rotors. I am disgusted with this location and angry that after trusting Big O with my tires for 4 years they would do this to me. I am filing complaints with both the Revdex.com and the Bureau of Automotive Repair.

Big O Tires Response • Jun 02, 2020

Good morning on Tuesday May 26th 2020 at 8:19am Mrs. came in to our Big O Tires location in Chino ,Ca to purchase a a tire for her 2011 Dodge Avenger during the visit Mrs. advise *** our service manager that one of the wheel stud and lug nut was worn and was hard for the tow truck driver to remove, as Mrs *** had been to both our Chino and Orange centers we told her that we would gladly take care of the worn part even through these parts suffer from metal fatigue when they are removed and reinstalled. Upon replacing the wheel stud and lug nut the caliper & rotor have to be removed in order to remove wheel stud from the hub assembly, at that point we noticed that the disc rotor had cracks on the inside for the rotor at point we discussed with Mrs. if she had any concerns with her brakes and she stated to *** that she did experience a low brake pedal and a pulsation when the brake pedal is applied at highway speeds. *** explained to Mrs. that the heat cracks and discoloration on the surface of the rotors could cause that pulsation, Mrs. informed us that her husband is a diesel mechanic and she would let him know. *** stated to Mrs. that the brake pads are at 5 to 6/32's remaining but if her husband was going to do brakes he should replace both rotors and pads to ensure the brakes are working properly. Mrs *** did ask about how much we would charge for this service *** replied that it would be $380.00 plus tax for brake pads, rotor and labor but we would have to check the other side to ensure that same is happening on that rotor. We then had our mechanic install the wheel stud and we installed the rim and tire assembly and cashed out Mrs. for only the tire we never did any other repairs as again she stated that her husband was a mechanic as we thanked her and she left with no other concerns or saying anything else. Thanks

I purchased tires from this store on 2-8-2020 they told me tires I did not ask for I did not notice this until much later. They left my wheels with 1 missing hex screw from the wheel cap. It was not missing when I went in they claim it was. I can not prove it. So They sold me a 1 year alignment I did not ask for. I only wanted a 1 time alignment. And they also sold me a tire road hazard protection package I did not want or sign for. Their district manager has offered to refund the $30.00 difference of the 1 year alignment but refuses to refund the tire protection even though I never signed for it and their own documentation states I can request a full refund with in 60 days if I have no claims. I provided these documents to Victor and he does not care.

My appologies its taken me a little bit to get this taken care of. I had a bit of a slight injury and have been dealing with issues seeing out of my left eye. So being infront of a computer was not ideal. In my review of all documents something else that I find upsetting is The Big O Tires location supposedly did a 4 wheel alignment of my car but all other times I have had cars aligned by other mechanics they provide me a spec sheet showing before and after for the caster and camber and heel/toe settings. These people did not provide me such a spec sheet so how do I know they actually did the alignment? Am I to just take their word on the matter? I want the full cost of the alignment refunded not just their offer of $30.00 but the full $119.99 as well as the road hazard warranty I never wanted or signed for which costs $81.60 so I'm seeking a total of $201.59 to be returned/refunded.

Please see attached invoice PDF and you will see that I never initialed or signed on the acceptance terms and conditions for their road hazard warranty

Let me know what can be done.

Big O Tires Response • Mar 16, 2020

Good morning to who it may concern,On 2-8-2020 Mr. call our Big O Tire center located in the city of Chino, Ca looking for tire quote for his 2013 Toyota Camry on the phone we had quoted him one of our mid line of tires upon arrive to the center Mr. was informed that between the time he called till his arrive those tires we sold to another guest. Mr. was given 2 choices 1st choice wait till we order a new set time was about 2 to 3 hours or we offered Mr. an up coming special called our B2G2 tire sale which includes buy a set of tires get 2 free with premium installation & a 1 year alignment warranty. Mr. agreed to the 2nd option due to the amount of time he didn't want to wait. At this time we printed out an estimate for the work to be done, Mr. also had used wheels with used center caps that were damaged prior to us installing anything. These were not the original wheels nor the original size tires for this model of Toyota Camry, Mr. asked us to install them knowing that there were not the original O.E fitment and universal wheel that fit various model cars with the 2 different bolt patterns. We also didn't charge any extra to exchange the TPMS sensor from one set of wheel to another along with reprogramming them. at that point MR. signed the work order stating the amount for this purchase which was about $200 more then the original quote on the phone, Mr. agreed as we set out the work order for the services to be completed. When Mr. came for the car after all services were completed which was installing his own wheels he supplied, our tires that he purchased from us along with the balancing and alignment that was on the work order when Mr.. *** picked up the Camry there was an issue with a center cap missing a fake bolt head which is all cosmetic does affect the center cap at all. Mr. got into a verbal discussion with 2 of my team members and final spoke with the Manager of the center ***. He assured Mr. that we would do whatever we could to help replace the center cap and or the missing bolt head even though it had been missing from the beginning again used wheels not new. After that Mr. posted a yelp review stating that we tried to bait and switch tire deals with him, also that we damaged his center cap. After the yelp had posted I got involved with Mr. and responded to his yelp, at that point Mr. thanked me for contacting himas we spoke on the visit at the Chino center he did state the same he had posted on Yelp to me. I explained to Mr. that I would hep in the process to resolve his concerns so I then called and spoke to *** for hisside and what happened at the center with Mr., *** told men pretty much the same on the center cap issue and that we seem to go above and beyond to assist Mr. on this installation for his request. As I spoke to Mr. on this matter I asked him what he wanted me to do he replied please handle the center cap which I said no problem. I researched the cap and couldn't find this product as the wheels are discontinued, so we tried to find a used one no luck by the time a got an answer back to Mr. he had changed his mind several times and declined any offer he purposed. Last we spoke we wanted us to do a refund I said ok but we we have to refund you the entire sale and bill you just the tires and alignment with any warranties as stated on the sale. I said if we do that you would owe us $130 dollars which was the difference amount with out the sale. He disagreed and basically wanted the whole alignment and the TPP warranty back replied and said we can if we do this way but you would still owes us #130 he declined and kep sending me threating text. Any other questions please let me knowThanks

I am rejecting this response because:
Their response is not a response. It is just a story of what they feel went wrong. The facts of the matter are A. They did not provide me an alignment spec sheet for the alignment they claim to have done on the car. *All other service shops do this service to show the before and after. There should be 3 C's on their invoice which are missing. The 3C's being Cause, Correction & Cost they did not do this. I never signed their road hazard warranty documents in fact I have them. On their road hazard documents it has a warranty terms and conditions on it with a clause about refund. I have asked for a refund and they are refusing. Their excuse provided to me they give me this elaborate story about buy one get one and a packaged deal. Their warranty terms and conditions and their refund section does not state "EXCLUDING DEALS OR BUY ONE GET ONE" Their so called sales deals and buyone get one are NOT mentioned at all. So they have no bearing in this discussion. This discussion is about me wanting a 100% refund of the road hazard warranty which their own documentation sas I'm entitled to if I have not used it which I have not. So I am entitled to a FULL unconditional refund of this so called warranty which I NEVER asked for or wanted. And I should be entitled to a FULL COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL refund of the alignment which they have provided me no evidence they did. I have the paperwork they provided and besides being a line item on a sloppy invoice which looks more like a parts invoice from *** or *** there is zero evidence they did a 4 wheel alignment on the car. They are in breach of their own contracts they have done very sloppy work which I can prove and my words are not a threat they are a promise I will take them to court over this if they continue to insist they have done no wrong. When I take them to court I will be seeking much more than what I'm asking for currently and I will also be taking them for my court costs in addition to any time I lose from work dealing them them. "Lost wages"Any judge who see's this reads their invoice and reads the situation of my complaint will see that they do NOT have a leg to stand on. Id rather resolve this without going to court, but I'm willing and ready when ever they are I can prove my point I know they have no ability to prove theirs.
