I am rejecting this response because: I disagree with the second paragraph of the response to my complaint When I telephoned Gold Country Bootery I specifically asked "How much do you charge to put taps ON A PAIR OF SHOES?" The response was "$7.00." When I came into the shop and told the man that I had called in advance to ask how much they charge to put taps ON A PAIR OF SHOES and was told $PER PAIR OF SHOES he said "That's right." When I showed him A PAIR of my shoes with taps on the heel AND the toe he did not tell me he meant $per pair of taps nor did he state "That would be $PER PAIR OF SHOES." Instead, he remained silent and led me to believe he was going to charge me $PER PAIR OF SHOES That would have been the time to say "I only sell taps in pairs, not per pair of shoes." or "Since you want taps on both the heel and the toe it will be $PER PAIR OF SHOES! Had be ever stated "I only sell taps in pairs, not per pair of shoes I could understand why he states "...I just naturally thought he knew the price was $a pair of taps..." but he never said that and it wasn't until AFTER the work was done that he "clarified" what he meant by a "pair" I still feel this is a case of 'price switching' because I think he knows his only competition in El Dorado County charges $per pair of shoes to put taps on the heel and toe! I do not understand his line of reasoning regarding 1/sales tax as I thought ALL sales taxes are collected as a percentage (6%, 7%, 8% etc.) of the amount of the sale; according to him, he collects 20% "of the repair" which seems like a very high amount of sales tax
I only sell taps in pairs not per pair of shoes 98% of all taps sold are on the heels of shoesI had never said the word shoes when selling products as that would not make any sense when referring to a specific item such a heels, soles, laces.Mr*** Called me and on the phone how much taps
were I told him there were $a pair meaning one pair of tapsWhen he brought the shoes in and I saw he had heel and toe tap I just naturally thought he knew the price was $a pair of taps pairs each shoe X pr of shoesI have never charged less than $a pair in years. As taxes collected I have of my customers work for Board of Equalization in supervision I have asked them specific questions about taxes on repair work they gave me specific answersI have to collect 1/sales tax because 1/of the repair is considered product. You may of course check, I have done my home work.Any questions please call me ***My hours are Tuesday & Wednesday am- 5:30pm Thursday, Friday am- noon Saturday 10- 12:30Thank you for your concern *** *** owner Gold Country BooteryExperience years

When I showed him A PAIR of my shoes with taps on the heel AND the toe he did not tell me he meant $7.00 per pair of taps nor did he state "That would be $14.00 PER PAIR OF SHOES.". Instead, he remained silent and led me to believe he was going to charge me $7.00 PER PAIR OF SHOES. That would have been the time to say "I only sell taps in pairs, not per pair of shoes." or "Since you want taps on both the heel and the toe it will be $14.00 PER PAIR OF SHOES! I still feel this is a case of 'price switching' because I think he knows his only competition in El Dorado County charges $10.00 per pair of shoes to put taps on the heel and toe! I do not understand his line of reasoning regarding 1/5 sales tax as I thought ALL sales taxes are collected as a percentage (6%, 7%, 8% etc.) of the amount of the sale; according to him, he collects 20% "of the repair" which seems like a very high amount of sales tax.
