Big Ray's Quick Lube Reviews (2)
My 17 y/o daughter was looking for an inexpensive oil change for her [redacted], as money is tight, so she took her car into this business location on the advice of a friend. Instead of just giving her a simple $30 oil change, they pressured her into buying a $35 "engine flush" service. They drained her oil, then added an unknown fluid to "get the rest of the old oil out". This is a rip-off and potentially harmful to the engine. This is not the 1970's, when the quality of the oils available may have warranted doing this, and this "service" could very well have promoted damage to bearings or hard parts in her engine. Upon calling the business to demand answers and a refund, the "manager" I spoke to was very rude and condescending. If you value your car, do not take it to Big Ray's for ANY kind of service. I would never in good conscience recommend this business to anyone. Caveat Emptor!!!
In regards to this incident, the lady came into the shop asking for an oil change. Oil change was done. Couple days later she came back stating that she had an oil leak. Everything was check to find no oil leak but a transmission leak was certain. One of the screws were broken off in the...
transmission. All of this was explained and shown to customer before touching the pan. She wanted a transmission flush which was done but still had the same problem. (Leaking from the screw) she asked if we could fix it but was told we could change the gasket, filter and trans fluid and put a new screw inside ( which was done) this was an occurring problem before touching the transmission. (As she saw for herself) she was told that if it continues to leak she might need to take the vehicle to a transmission shop.
