Suspicious Tax Activity...The owner is very condescending and won't give me a receipt for the services I paid. I would like to report the following suspicious tax activity:Name: Big River MarineAddress: 2008 N Service RoadCity, State Zip: West Memphis, AR XXXXXTax Type: Sales/UseDescription: On Monday July 22nd 2013 I took my boat to Big River Marine in West Memphis, AR to have engine repair done. The following Friday 26th July, 2013 I went to get the boat. I walked in with my check boat and the owner [redacted] said "didn't they tell you if you paid with cash I wouldn't charge sales taxes. I said no and asked him how much is taxes which he said around $35 dollars. Him and a lady working there pointed me to the [redacted] to use a ATM. I got $400 from the ATM and paid him $395 cash money($375 for work on three carburetors $125 each and $20 for a bottle of Yamalube additive. I had to return to BRM on Monday to file a police report after discovering that approx $800 of tackle was stolen from my boat while it was in their presence. Officer [redacted] #257 took my statement and talked with [redacted]. I asked the officer to request my receipt. After his investigation he told me that [redacted] told him "that we agreed that if I paid him cash he wouldn't charge taxes". I told Officer [redacted] that we didn't agree to not getting a receipt and would he please go request it again. This guy [redacted] still wouldn't give Officer [redacted] my receipt and told him that this was a civil matter. This guy was so comfortable talking taking cash and not charging taxes that I'm sure he's done it before. Be prepared because he's very rude and condescending. Desired Settlement I want a detailed receipt for the services I paid.

Misrepresented repairs Repairs unsatisfactoryMisrepresented billing Dishonest in all dealings I took my 40 [redacted] outboard to be serviced by [redacted] and [redacted] at Big River Marine last summer .I was told it needed a fuel pump ,which I agreed to and was charged $750.The first time I ran it the lower unit caught on fire.I took it back to Big River Marine and after several weeks , was told I would need to spend an additional $1700 to repair .I declined and asked them to have it ready for me to pick up.When I picked it up , I was told I owed $450 for repair pursuit costs . I was not advised of this when I dropped it off or when I asked to have it ready .When I picked up the boat , somehow the presentedinvoice was for $781.42 an increase of 73 % over the amount I was told when I arrived to pick the motor up.I contacted the[redacted] Police department and asked them to meet me on site to discuss .The officers said they understood what was going on but that it ultimately was a civil matter and they could not assist me , that I needed to involve an attorney and the court system . Unfortunately I did not check this outfit out with the Revdex.com or I would have seen the multiple number of offenses for both Lori and [redacted] and Big River Marine .I am writing this as an attempt to alert others of their obviously unscrupulous and dishonest business practices so they [redacted] not do business with them or get lied to and mis represented to as I did .Based on their Revdex.com record, they obviously have issues .Desired SettlementNo settlement requested other than to note this with the other numerous dissatisfied customers so others wont be taken advantage of in similar fashion .Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], OwnerContact Phone:[redacted]Contact Email: [email protected] previous repair the customer refers to was done almost a year ago, and he refused to accept the fact that the current repair was more than anticipated. We can't fix things unless the customer is willing to let us do the work. I consulted with [redacted] Technical support five or six times, and was advised by them that he needed a new vapor separator. We worked on this engine for over 20 hours total, and tried our best to fix it with the budget we were given, but Mr. [redacted] wouldn't spend the extra money to buy the 800.00 part. He wanted to blame the current repair on the repair from last year, which he accepted, and immediately got irate and started cursing and I actually had to call the police. We offered a settlement price before Mr. [redacted] started calling me names, and cursing me, so we retracted our offer, but still only charged him for 8 hours plus the parts we had used to try to fix the engine with his budget. My calls to the police, and [redacted] Technical are documented on both my phone and theirs if you would like them.
