Review: Two issues are involved: 1st) On 03/02/2015 Big and Small Landscaping was employed to remove snow from the roof of my ranch in [redacted]. In the process of removing the snow two heat tape cables were inadvertently cut by the roofers. This occured even after I notified both [redacted] and the work crew that there were cables up there for defrosting the snow and to keep a full 4 feet away from the edge of the back roof. I immediately identified a problem when the breakers associated with these cables kept flipping off--signs of a shot somewhere. I contacted [redacted]--who had been the general contractor on the electrical tape / cables job and he contacted [redacted], who had installed the cables. They investigated and produced a cost estimate, which I mailed to [redacted] and have gotten a response of both silence and disstancing--even after he had initially stated, via text that he would pay for the repair. I only was asking for 1/2 the cost as [redacted] had explained to me that working without a schematic detailed drawing as to the precise location of the cables did place the workers in a very difficult situation. This I understood and notified [redacted] and [redacted] that I only wanted 1/2 the cost of the repair and that I was more than happy to work prospectively [that is forward moving desiring to want to continue a good, wholesome working relationship with their company]. All I have now is both silence and disstance from both of them. This is a terrible way to advance the reputation of minority owned businesses who desperately need to foster images of integrity and uprightness among the general public at large.Desired Settlement: My desires for resolution are the following: 1) only asking for 1/2 the cost of the repair which comes to about $735.00 .
2) Strongly desire to want to continue to do business with [redacted] and [redacted]--their landscaping, cuttings, and winter shoveling has been really fine all around, and they are wonderfully kind and decent people. Want [redacted] to fully embrace and whole heartedly honor the $35.00 per cutting agreement he had agreed to with me as a tying agreement and sweetner to the $5,500.00 landscaping deal we entered into in September of 2014.
