Similar experience as others. They offered us a $1 Trial for two months and if we liked they would charge us $199.00 a month for the service. They never called us and just started charging our card- $199.00 every month after the trial, I called and they said they wouldn't refund the charges, So I just cancel the account and called my credit card company and disputed all the charges and made sure they don't charge my card again.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, VERY DECEPTIVE SALE PRACTICES!

Sometimes a new retail member will get a promotional $1/month charge before the regular $199/month pricing takes effect. The change from $1 to $199 is automatic at that point, i.e. we would not explicitly notify the retailer before the change. This specific incident may have been a miscommunication.

We had a subscription with them to advertise on their web site...In June we cancelled the subscription and was not charge, however, for some reason they charged us a $1.00 which we asked them to discontinue the charge and they did.
Now in October they charge my credit card with $299.00, I called and spoke to John who said he would credit our account...I called again and forgot whom I talked with and he told me no problem he will cancel the subscription and credit my account.
The account was never credited, I called the bank and put in a dispute and called john again.
He was extremely rude, abrupt would not listen to anything I said but insisted he will not credit my account as we never cancelled.
Bottom line I talked with two different people one said he would credit my account and John who at the beginning said he would, and now refused. This is an authorized charge and needs to be credited to y account...
Very rude the way he treated me and very poor business manners. I would like this complaint to be sent to him and noted on your site. I need my money refunded as the subscription has been cancelled.

Same experience as others. They offered us a $1 intro, never gave us an intro and started charging our card- after speaking with Jairus Garcia, a retention manager, he said they couldnt refund our money but would give us 2 months free for our troubles, then cancel the account. This never happened and they went back to charging us.
Now noone answers the phone... grade A scam artistry. Do not trust.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with BikeExchange. We've made several changes to our processes since this time to ensure better communication with our retail members.

Same experience as the other complaints. Bike Exchange offered my shop an introductory rate of $1 a month for 3 months. After the 3rd month, I spoke on the phone with a company rep who assured me my account would be cancelled and I would not be charged any further. I just got billed $199 and they refuse to reverse the charge because they have "no record of me cancelling the account". I also filed a dispute with my credit card company. DO NOT do business with this shady outfit.

We've had a similar experience as the previous reviewer stated. They will entice you with $1 offers but still charge your credit card after you instruct them to cancel your account. I have the email where they acknowledged my request to cancel. But when contacted about the charge, they made false statements and refused to credit our account. In a follow up email, they blamed us for the situation. I have just filed a dispute with our credit card company regarding the most recent charge. Also, during the trial period, they never fully provided the services that they originally promised. I cannot believe that people act with such a lack of integrity.

With over almost 600 active retailers across North America actively using BikeExchange as a low cost marketing service to consumers we are proud of what we do with this being only the second complaint to the Revdex.com in the past 2 years.
We acknowledged the cancel request and provided a free service until we reviewed the request with the owner of the business who genuinely agreed to continue on the basis that it continued to be provided essentially for free for a further 2 months (@$1 being a 99.5% discount) before returning to normal billing.
During this time all advertising remained live online and consumers responded to them adding value to the retailers business. The owner (not the reviewer) also agreed to re-engage with additional training to ensure maximum value was derived for his business. Multiple attempts to engage with the owner to complete training and increase the ads online then followed which proved unsuccessful. As requested today the account is now permanently closed.
