Review: I purchased a $200 gift certificate at the beginning of October for my husband to buy a scooter. I tried for several weeks to go in with him to pick out his scooter but the store was closed. The windows were covered in paper and a sign on the door said closed for inventory. There was a phone number to call to make an appointment but when I called it is simply said they are not available. There was no way to leave a message. Finally, after over a month of trying to contact the store, I received a text from the [redacted] of the store saying that they had to close to store to deal with a broken front gate and all their inventory was in storage. I was patient and waited as long as possible while they dealt with their situation but the scooter was supposed to be a gift and the occasion came and went. Finally, at the end of February, I texted them and told them that I would just like a refund of the gift certificate as the occasion had long passed and I no longer needed the scooter. They didn’t respond for a week, actually, they only responded when I told them I was going to contact the Revdex.com unless I heard back from them. They responded with apologies stating they had a family emergency. They said they had plans to reopen the store in April and would contact me then. On April [redacted] I received a text that the store was open and they would gladly either provide me with a refund or a deal on a scooter.

Today, August [redacted], I went into the store with my gift certificate to get a refund. The [redacted] of the store was there and told me they would only issue my refund if I had my receipt. I told her that this was never mentioned in my communications with her over the past several months. Her response was, “it was obvious” and stated that she couldn’t do anything about it because she was “just the [redacted]”. I stated that all the information needed was on the hand written gift certificate, including purchase date, amount, and person who issued. I asked to speak with someone who could make this decision and she said it ended with her. This is a very different depiction of herself being “just the [redacted]”. She said we could go round and round but she wouldn’t issue the refund without a receipt. I can understand if I was trying to return merchandise, but I am returning a gift certificate that was obviously issued by them.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $200.00 for the gift certificate. I would be happy to provide a credit card statement if that would be helpful. I have the gift certificate issued to return as well.

We kept in contact with the customer during the time we were closed. As soon as we reopened we contacted [redacted]. Here is a copy of the text message we sent to [redacted] the text Message was sent to telephone number ###-###-#### on April **, 2014 at 11:21am : [Hello, How are you? We are finally open! [redacted] never responded to the April **, 2014 text message.

On August **, 2014 almost 4 months after we last contacted [redacted] with no reply from [redacted], [redacted] came by the shop and asked for a refund. We said that we would gladly issue a refund but she must have present at the time of refund her original purchase receipt and the gift certificate in order for us to process the refund. [redacted] stated that she doesn't have her purchase receipt she only has the gift certificate. We offered her a deal on any in stock scooter.

Because [redacted] left our shop on August **, 2014 quite frustrated and agitated that was certainly not our goal we sent her a text message on August **, 2014 at 4:28pm to telephone number ###-###-#### [ Please understand that we are trying to do everything within our power to rectify this situation. There were extenuating circumstances which forced us to close the shop. We stayed in contact with you and have been trying to be as accommodating as possible. If you are not able to locate the purchase receipt and just have the gift certificate in your possession we would be able to offer you a discount on any in stock scooter. ]
