On 9/24/Mr [redacted] did bring his [redacted] motorcycle in for modification for his [redacted] This was not a repair - I want to emphasize that it was a modification He supplied a set of aftermarket headlight, turn signals and tail lightHe states that I gave him an estimate of approximately hours, it was not an estimate but a statement that it would take at least that longI hadn't had a chance to examine the parts he was supplying and was under the assumption that the parts were meant for that particular bikeAs it turned out the parts were generic and without the proper electrical connectors to facilitate the current connectors that existed on the motorcycleThus there was a great amount of time spent installing appropriate connectorsAnother time consuming factor was the fact that the color codes on the lights supplied (by the customer) did not match those of the motorcycle that they were being installed onIn addition there was no instructions or wire schematic supplied which required deciphering which wires went where so that they functioned correctly when finishedIn short there was a great deal of fabrication involved to make everything work as desired, safely, and to meet state safety inspection codes All the while, we kept the stock wire harness of the motorcycle in tact so that the stock lighting fixtures could be reinstalled sometime in the future if desired or necessary. As to the claim that the customers rear tail light and blinkers came off I cannot attest to as he refused to bring it back so: 1) I could verify that there was a problem and if so have the opportunity to correct it (which I would have gladly done so) and 2) if the customer did in fact correct the problem I could still verify what the problem was and what was needed to correct it I know for a fact that the tail light and turn signal assembly were attached with the hardware that was supplied by the manufacturer of the tail lightIf it was inadequate I would suggest that the customer contact either the manufacturer and/or the supplier and seek reimbursement from themAs it stands from my point of view without having the opportunity to inspect the workmanship, I have no way to acknowledge or confirm that this did indeed happen.I would suggest to the customer that if he is not willing to pay a fair price for customization of his bike that he leave it as it comes from the factory

The complaint has not been resolved - please keep the matter open until I actually hear from the businessAt this point, they've had my scooter for over a year, and have yet to fix the problem

On 9/24/Mr *** did bring his
*** motorcycle in for modification for his ***This
was not a repair - I want to emphasize that it was a modification
He supplied a set of aftermarket headlight, turn signals and tail
lightHe states that I gave him an estimate of
approximately
hours, it was not an estimate but a statement that it would take at
least that longI hadn't had a chance to examine the parts he was
supplying and was under the assumption that the parts were meant for
that particular bikeAs it turned out the parts were generic and
without the proper electrical connectors to facilitate the current
connectors that existed on the motorcycleThus there was a great
amount of time spent installing appropriate connectorsAnother time
consuming factor was the fact that the color codes on the lights
supplied (by the customer) did not match those of the motorcycle that
they were being installed onIn addition there was no instructions
or wire schematic supplied which required deciphering which wires
went where so that they functioned correctly when finishedIn short
there was a great deal of fabrication involved to make everything
work as desired, safely, and to meet state safety inspection codes
All the while, we kept the stock wire harness of the motorcycle in
tact so that the stock lighting fixtures could be reinstalled
sometime in the future if desired or necessary. As to the claim that the customers rear
tail light and blinkers came off I cannot attest to as he refused to
bring it back so: 1) I could verify that there was a problem and if
so have the opportunity to correct it (which I would have gladly done
so) and 2) if the customer did in fact correct the problem I could
still verify what the problem was and what was needed to correct it
I know for a fact that the tail light and turn signal assembly were
attached with the hardware that was supplied by the manufacturer of
the tail lightIf it was inadequate I would suggest that the
customer contact either the manufacturer and/or the supplier and seek
reimbursement from themAs it stands from my point of view without
having the opportunity to inspect the workmanship, I have no way to
acknowledge or confirm that this did indeed happen.I would suggest to the customer that if
he is not willing to pay a fair price for customization of his bike
that he leave it as it comes from the factory

If the customer would visit the shop where the scooter has been stored, so we can resolve the problem the issue could get resolved

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below.
There was nothing to 'accept' in the response from [redacted]. Therefore, I am rejecting it. I spoke with him on the phone after I filed the complaint, and he offered to refund me $200. I told him I wasn't willing to pay over $300 for what he did (a refund of $200 would still leave me with a bill of $440). He was going to get back to me with what he would be willing to refund me. I waited to hear back from him, and never did. I should have been notified of the situation once, as he states, he fully examined the headlights. He did in fact look at the headlights in front of me when I brought them in and told me 2-3 hours (again at $80/hour that would be a maximum of $240, not upwards of $600). Once he further examined them and determined "...the parts were generic and without the proper electrical connectors to facilitate the current connectors that existed on the motorcycle. Thus there was a great amount of time spent installing appropriate connectors" I should have been contacted BEFORE he did anything. Any mechanic I have ever dealt with, whether bike or car, would not proceed without first giving me the NEW information on time and cost. I would have NOT had him go any further for that price.
Regards,
[redacted]
