shop policy is when a vehicle is scheduled in for diagnostics we verbally notify the customer there "may" be a diagnostic fee for inspecting their vehicle should they choose not to repair the vehicle at the time of inspectionMr [redacted] brought his [redacted] in to diagnose a heating system issue (having no heat in the front heating unit & barely any heat from the rear unit) & scan check engine lightWe had more than hours in diagnosing the issue as previously stated but only charged for an hour labor plus sales taxMr [redacted] was informed that we would deduct the diagnostic fee from the repair bill if he were to repair the entire problem that was diagnosedHe chose not to have repairs completed & so the diagnostic fee was chargedHe stated, to the owner, that no one else & his repair shop doesn't charges diagnostic feesThe owner then asked why Mr [redacted] didn't take his vehicle to his repair shopMr [redacted] then stated that he was from [redacted] The owner stated that well they may do that in [redacted] but we do not hereWe did not "hold his keys" ox threaten to involve the lawThe settlement Mr [redacted] requested will not be accepted as we were more than generous by not charging for the entire time we had into diagnosing the issue as requested

I felt involving the law would have been my only alternative as MrCottle was unprofessional and confrontational Regards, [redacted]

a heating system issue (having no heat in the front heating unit & barely any heat from the rear unit) & scan check engine light. We had more than 2 hours in diagnosing the issue as previously stated but only charged for an hour labor plus sales tax. Mr. [redacted] was informed that we would deduct the diagnostic fee from the repair bill if he were to repair the entire problem that was diagnosed. He chose not to have repairs completed & so the diagnostic fee was charged. He stated, to the owner, that no one else & his normal repair shop doesn't charges diagnostic fees. The owner then asked why Mr. [redacted] didn't take his vehicle to his normal repair shop. Mr. [redacted] then stated that he was from [redacted]. The owner stated that well they may do that in [redacted] but we do not here. We did not "hold his keys" ox threaten to involve the law. Mr.Cottle told me he spent 1 hour not 2 examining my vehicle. There was no comment that I was "getting a break" because Canton Auto Repair was only charging me for 1 hour.

I would have used one of them if Canton Auto Repair would have been upfront with me.
