Your above statement does not validate how the deal was made. Myself and 2 witnesses were told our only other out of pocket expense was the inspection sticker, which we confirmed numerous times with the salesman.

I have spoken to the bank on several occasions and since the GAP insurance was cancelled after the principal balance was satisfied and paid in full, that refund belongs to myself the customer. The total cost of the gap insurance was originally included in the total amount financed for the car and since that total principal amount has been paid off and satisfied any refund for gap insurance should belong to the customer. I was told this from the gap insurance holder and from the bank and this has been the practice in the past with several other dealerships that I have worked with. Why has this changed now. The bank has also notified me that any refund they receive for gap insurance from the dealer will immediately be forwarded to the myself the customer

We have a letter from your bank stating that they received the refund and used it to pay the principal down before you paid it off. The letter states they will be refunding you a total of 15.96. which represents the surplus from the gap. I will attach a copy for you.

I have talked with the bank and the dealership. the refund belongs to the bank. they take it off of the principal. the check does not go back to the customer as they do not own the truck the bank does.
