I asked for a quote for insurance for my auto. I received a quote. I had to pay $525.25 down to get a reduced insurance premium. They cashed my check, set up my direct withdrawal and then changed the quote/increased my premuim. If I had known it was going to be the same premium as I was originally paying, I WOULDN'T HAVE SWITCHED INSURANCE COMPANIES! I could have avoided paying a cancellation penalty from the original insurance company.This is a perfect example of bait and switch!I have all of this in writing/email. I need an address to forward these emails to. Here is just a snippet: My question in an email was: "Youve read over my existing policy from Metropolitan, and you are assuring me I am getting the exact same coverage, correct?" His reply is, "We are 100% on the same page. You can make the check to Allstate and send it to:1280 Main StWorcester, MA XXXXXOne of the discounts I gave you when I quoted you was the easy pay discount. The 9 payments of $35 would come directly out of your account if that is ok with you. You can pick which day of the month. It saved you about 10%.[redacted]I also want you to know, AFTER they raised my premium, I stopped the direct withdrawal. They have proven that they cannot be trusted. Rhino Insurance represents Allstate Ins. in Massachusetts. I have had my vehicles covered by Allstate in both North Carolina and Florida. Now, I have moved back up to Massachusetts, a little over a year ago. I signed up my wife's car and my truck with Rhino Insurance. I got full coverage, including collision, comprehension, towing and car rental services, on both vehicles, since my wife's car is still financed. When I bought a new truck to replace my old truck, I transferred the full coverage that I had on my old truck, and my new truck is financed too. I have my monthly insurance payment withdrawn from my bank account. I unfortunately was in an accident Thurs., Feb. 5, 2015 and totaled my truck. When I went to submit my claim, they stated that my collision and comprehension coverage was suspended due to not having my vehicle inspected. I was never informed in writing or by phone by my agent Rhino Ins. that I need to have my vehicle inspected to get comprehension and collision insurance, nor was I ever notified that such coverage was suspended. I spent two hours in their office on Fri., Feb. 6, 2015 and when they pulled up my insurance screen, it did not show that my coverage was suspended and they acted shocked that it was. Then upon further checking they found where it had been suspended, but they said they were unaware of it. I called the Allstate claim department in PA on Friday and they are to get back to me but have not as of today Monday, Feb. 9th. I also sent an email to Allstate and received a call from a gentleman this morning telling me he is sending this matter up the "flag pole" and someone will contact me. I emailed Bill Rhino yesterday, asking for a phone call ASAP, but have not heard from him. One of the agents in the office said he has been in and out today, and she would tell him to call us. Also, the agent I am working with through that office is out sick today, hopefully she will be in tomorrow. I need this matter cleared up ASAP. But according to the MA Commission of Insurance, we were not required to have our vehicles inspected, so they had no right to suspend our coverage, esp. with out notification). (I am in the process of filing a complaint with the MA Commission of Insurance at this time too.) I need to have the towing, storage and rental expenses paid; as well as my claim.Business Response I was made aware of the issue Mr. [redacted] was having when he came into the office after his accident. The office manager sent an email to the supervisor asking for assistance to this matter. We were in contact with the claims department over the next few days about the issue. I have been made aware that the issue with his coverage was resolved on February 18, 2015. The claims department will be the ones to contact about whether Allstate is covering the accident or not. This agency had no control over the suspension of his coverage. Once an application is submitted by our office, all final decisions and changes are made by our corporate office.
