Apparently I can't file a formal complaint, this is the only place I can find to submit my dissatisfaction with Billion's business practices In July 2014, I purchased a vehicle from Billion I agreed to pay $as a down payment My co-signer and I signed some papers and then came back the next day to finish as the process was taking too long Billion neglected to collect the down payment, and considering that we were heading off on vacation, we didn't even think to give it to them A few weeks went by before I realized they hadn't collected it At that point, since I hadn't heard from Billion, I assumed they must have rolled it up with my loan On Dec 8, 2014, I get a knock on the door and have been served with papers to be taken to small claims court by Billion I haven't received one letter in the mail nor have I received any voice mails asking for this money or even asking them to call them I called Billion the next day to find out why they chose to take this course of action, without reaching out to me first The gentleman explained that he's left me several messagesI asked when and he couldn't give me dates I looked at my phone and told him I got one missed call on 11/but that was it He said he knows he left me several message from his number but my phone records do not reflect any calls from him besides the one on 11/ I also know for a fact that he did not leave me a message on 11/because I had just gotten a new phone and the voice mail was not set up yet I ended up having to pay $in addition to the $for court costs just to settle this I feel that what was done was deceitful and a very poor business practice Billion should attempt to contact customers more than once, and at least send a notice in the mail, if they need to collect payment I did not intentionally do this and I was made to feel like I did when the gentleman's first words out of his mouth was "So you got served, huh?" It was rude and sarcastic I will never do business with Billion again because of this and I've told many people about this I hope they choose to handle things differently should this happen with another customer
Apparently I can't file a formal complaint, this is the only place I can find to submit my dissatisfaction with Billion's business practices.
In July 2014, I purchased a vehicle from Billion. I agreed to pay $1000.00 as a down payment. My co-signer and I signed some papers and then came back the next day to finish as the process was taking too long. Billion neglected to collect the down payment, and considering that we were heading off on vacation, we didn't even think to give it to them. A few weeks went by before I realized they hadn't collected it. At that point, since I hadn't heard from Billion, I assumed they must have rolled it up with my loan.
On Dec 8, 2014, I get a knock on the door and have been served with papers to be taken to small claims court by Billion. I haven't received one letter in the mail nor have I received any voice mails asking for this money or even asking them to call them.
I called Billion the next day to find out why they chose to take this course of action, without reaching out to me first. The gentleman explained that he's left me several messages. I asked when and he couldn't give me dates. I looked at my phone and told him I got one missed call on 11/25 but that was it. He said he knows he left me several message from his number but my phone records do not reflect any calls from him besides the one on 11/25. I also know for a fact that he did not leave me a message on 11/25 because I had just gotten a new phone and the voice mail was not set up yet.
I ended up having to pay $125 in addition to the $1000.00 for court costs just to settle this. I feel that what was done was deceitful and a very poor business practice. Billion should attempt to contact customers more than once, and at least send a notice in the mail, if they need to collect payment. I did not intentionally do this and I was made to feel like I did when the gentleman's first words out of his mouth was "So you got served, huh?" It was rude and sarcastic.
I will never do business with Billion again because of this and I've told many people about this. I hope they choose to handle things differently should this happen with another customer.
