Bill's Auto Collision Reviews (1)

Review: A couple of months ago my neighbor had hit my vehicle a 1995 Volvo sedan, rendering it unfit for safe driving. My car was sent to a shop called Bill's Auto located in 1725A County Line Road for repairs which I was still undecided on funding. I had told one of the employees at Bill's Auto to wait for the Appraiser and to allow him to look at the vehicle from underneath so I could get an accurate compensation for the damages. During this conversation I also asked for them to call me back and let me know about the situation specifically stating that I did not want them to begin any repairs until I made my decision. After not hearing back for a while I get word from my insurance that the Appraiser had already looked at my vehicle. Confused I decided to call Bill's Auto back to find out what was going on. During this second conversation I repeated that I did not want my car fixed and that I was in a troubled financial situation. At this time I had made up my mind to keep the compensation from my insurance and to sell my car since it was not worth fixing. This rude employee then tells me that he had handed my car over to another mechanic and that they had already begun fixing the vehicle without my permission. The communication with this company was frustrating and I was very upset. This man then tells me that he had nothing to do with it and that it is [redacted] who I should be talking to. By the time I reach this [redacted] mechanic at the shop [redacted] manages to give me another excuse for the repairs that they have now been working on and brushes me off to talk back with the guy I started with. At this point I am furious but they keep toying with me telling me how there is now nothing they can do about it. Finally [redacted] tells me that he has already finished repairs on my vehicle and that he needs to pay his workers. From the beginning they kept asking that the money for the repairs should be sent to them but I refused telling this employee from the start that I was still making a decision to know if I want to fix my car or not. During the incident this employee and the mechanic constantly lied to me by telling me that an approval was given for the repairs, and simultaneously giving me excuses about each other. In the aftermath [redacted] held his ground and took my car from me demanding that a sum of $750.00 needs to be paid if I want to get my car back. It turns out that now I have to pay for their mistakes whether I like it or not. I hope that someone does something about this business, such an attitude towards a costumer is absolutely unacceptable; this auto shop deserves to be shut down.Desired Settlement: I don't want to fix that car. If that shop could give me $1000 I would give them the title for my car and they can sell my car for the price they want.
