Review: I took my computer to Bill's Electronics to have it diagnosed for my home owners insurance. I specifically said for him to only see what is wrong with my computer and itemize it for the insurance company. He sais that diagnostics were free and that was the reason I took it there and not another repair store. He called me a week later and said that he download a driver for the cooling fan and that I needed a bigger case to allow more room for it. I declined the new case that he stated was $95 he said that he would have his people put it back together and call me when it was ready. He called later the same day(friday) and I said I would have to pick it up next week because I was away for the weekend. I went to pick up my computer the following Wednesday. He did not address any of the issues of liquid damage or and only spoke of the fan which I told him was already working. He said that I had to pay 101.65 for the repair. I asked him what repair and he said the repair I ok'd over the phone. I told him that was the same case I already had and and he said they had already downloaded the free drivers for my computer without my permission so I figured they were part of the free diagnostic. I did not and would never pay someone to download a free update for 101.65. I specifically instructed him to just tell me what components were faulty and to list them so I could present it to my homeowners insurance. Now I am without my computer and my school work is on there along with other sensitive information and pictures. I am also afraid that he is trying to keep my computer past his 30 day forfeit rule on pick ups of equipment. I have obtained a police report and am exploring my options legally. When I returned to his shot for a copy of the bill so I could see exactly what I was being charged for, he said I get a receipt when I pay for it. I video taped him denying me a bill of the charges. My homeowners claim also cannot proceed without any statemenDesired Settlement: I want him to take off the charges because I did not ok any repairs. I only agreed to a free diagnostic. Also charging 101.65 for downloading a free driver is unjustified.
