To Whom it may concernre:[redacted]This is to answer to a letter dated 3/28/2017 and one dated 3/31 from Mr.[redacted]complaint of work that was done at our shop. This was Mr. [redacted], first time coming to our shop for this issue, his complaint was that his truck wasusing to much oil! He had told...

us, he was putting in at least 1 gal. per day. The first thing. we do is checkthe oil, I have been doing truck repair for over 45 year!! and in all that time have seen some crazy things·,but this trucks oil was so dirty I could not even whip it off my hands, It was thick and black with metalshavings in it. We did ask how long it had been sent his last oil change, he said about 7 month and wasnot for sure on the millegel Also with the complaint of using to much oil it was smoking and the gasketsfrom the exhaust manifold where leaking, which is a DOT violation and would "red tag" him at the scalehouse. Mr. [redacted] was informed of this, he chose to leave his truck here to be repaired. We did notrequire him to leave it. WE in good faith, repaired his truck, as you can read, R & R (Removed &Replaced) his exhaust manifold gasket with 5 new exhaust bolts & x1 turbo bolt, which broke when tryingto remove the bolts get very hot and stretch and lose the tinsel strength. Also we completed a service onhis truck, we removed the 10 gals of very dirty oil and all of the filters, 2 oil filters that hold 1 gal of oileach, air filter (which was also extremely dirty) & x2 fuel filters we added 1 gal of Lucas oil. for extralubrication because of the extremely dirty condition the original oil was in. When draining the oil out of anymotorized piece of equipment there Is oil all thought out the engine, there Is no way in getting all the oilout, unless you take It apart piece by piece. And If Mr. [redacted] knew anything about his truck or any pieceof equipment he would know that, that Is why I told him it might take a couple of oil change's to get all thecontaminated oil out of his truck. So If we brake this down It Is as follow's.Diagnostic'slabor=45.00Exhaust manifold gaskets w/new boltslabor =360.00parts= 42.71Removing all parts, turbo had a broken bolts x1 , x5 broken In exhaust manifold, and replace all parts=402. 71complete servicelabor=180.00parts=269.44Remove contaminated oil (and dispose of) all filters (and dispose) clean all component's, replace oil filtersinstall new oil test=449.44hazmat feedisposing of contaminated oil & filtershazmat=35.80So I'm not real for sure whera Mr.[redacted] feels we owe him $600.001 I did tell him, he need to have the oilchanged again to get out all the contaminated oil. It Is always the owner's reasonability to keep up themaintenance on his own equipment. Not the repair shop. I did tell him it would cost about $10,000 torebuild his engine, that Is what It cost! That's what he asked.Thank youWilliam & Cyndia D[redacted]Bill's Mobile Service LLC.
