Everything started well with Shumaker's Animal Control I had squirrels in my attic so I contacted them at the main number They came out right away The guys who came out were real friendly and appear to know what they are talking about They closed up all holes and placed an excluder on a the final entry point so that the squirrels can go out and have no way back in A few days later they came back to remove the excluder and close up the hole Great Service so far
I contacted them a few days later because I was still hearing noises in the attic I set a squirrel trap in my attic and the bait was eaten without setting off the trap, so I can confirm that I still have critters in my attic I contact Shumaker's again and was told that someone will be around the following day I took off work and nobody showed I contacted Shumaker's main line and was told that Tom will call me back, nothing I had Tom's number so I contacted him multiple times throughout the day and left messages on his phone (which says he will get back within minutes) but nothing I continued to contacted the main line and continued to get someone saying he will get with Tom and he will call me back I didn't want to *** them off because I paid $and wanted service, I know *** them off would only make problems For the next two weeks I would contact the main line and leave messages on Tom's phone, Never once did Tom call back To make a long story shortI contacted the main line and had a more detailed conversation with the same guy(but not Tom) He was very rude at this point and stated that I was told that I may have mice(which I was never told previously) When I mentioned that Tom has not contacted me a single time, either at his request, and also at my request, with all the voicemails...He said that "That's not important." He did say that someone will be contacting me before 8AM tomorrow
Fast Forward to Tomorrow...I receive a call from Zach, at 10AM or soHe tells me that they caught two squirrel, and that is all they catch as part of my contract (I never seen them catch a single squirrel, they just left an excluder on the house which lets the squirrel out but doesn't catch them) They are just not willing to do anything further for the $that I paid About the noise I was still hearinghe said he already told me I have mice in addition to the squirrels, which is a complete lie because if he told me that, wouldn't he have given me an option for removing them??? That was never presented to me because he never told me I had mice
In the end, My neighbors also contacted a wildlife removal company and since we all share walls (townhouse), it may have (hopefully) resolved my issue They used a company called ***, who showed up at least or times that week They were very friendly and worked closely with the owners who they were supporting and also myself and another neighbor He said he can't resolve his clients issue without working with us He was very nice and helpful
In conclusion ***'s may be knowledgeable but they are going to nickel and dime you Please, do yourself a favor and use *** or any other Animal/Pest Control company Alsomy contract says I have a year guarantee on any returning critters, but I was told that my contract is complete after the squirrel maximum (they never caught one) Steve from *** charges under $without a guarantee for returning critters, but gets rid of them completely and seals up your houseThanks for listening, I am posting this because ***'s Animal Control is a shady company, I lost my $and I don't want they same thing to happen to anyone else
I called three animal removal companies to trap raccoons in our atticI chose *** because unlike the other two companies I was able to get information regarding cost and methods over the phoneThe other two companies offered to schedule a $inspection to determine the the extent of the issue and true cost to remedy itI asked *** *** about an inspectionHe said that there was no charge and he could have someone out as early a 7am the next day, and they might be able to trap the raccoon the same dayWe were inclined to hire a local family owned small business and so he and I agreed to begin the next morning
And here the troubles began
When ***'s "technician" didn't show up by 7:(half hour late) I called and was told he was scheduled for My notes said 7amTom, technician, arrived and seemed polite but not too professionalHe set traps in the attic using opened, dumped tins of sardines as bait, and he dumped them directly on the floor of the evesHe also threw some burger food and wrappers into the eves to attract the raccoons to the traps(I didn't have access to the attic and wasn't aware of this until several days later!!!) After 4-days and no success I asked Tom about plan BHe said he and Dave didn't have oneI spoke to Dave and suggested (nicely) that he try another baitWow -he got nasty: "I've been doing this for years and we use sardines and that's what works."
Long story shortened: husband called and nicely asked that Tom return and clean up food in the eves and that they try a different arrangement of trapsDave agreed, said he would come out with Tom, said rectify thingsThey cameDave said that he saw no evidence of raccoons, were we absolutely sure?
a) We heard them
b) they've destroyed the shingles above the eves
b) our neighbor saw them in the gutter and alerted us
c) husband heard one on the roof and shined a flashlight in its face
*) I looked out a 2nd story window and a climbing raccoon stared right back at me
e) there are raccoon droppings
Dave and Tom didn't clean up any of the messThey didn't set up the traps the way they had agreed to doThey baited another trap by dumping three tins of sardines in it and left the tins sitting on top of the trap
Today Tom came back to "check" the trapsHe used his iPhone to inspect some dark areas (no flashlight I guess) and rubbed some dried bait into floor with his hands (no gloves either, I guess)It was all too disgustingBut then he tried to tell me that our chimney (possible point of entry) cap had no wire mesh that would keep out birds and animalsI disagreed and he challenged me to come outside and look(Not a polite exchange.) I was astoundedHusband and I used binoculars to inspect the mesh the day before and noticed that a corner was loose

they are not hour service, they did not honor warranty, they did not charge the amount quoted on the phone to come out
