Binghamton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Reviews (6)

Mr*** had his vehicle in the shop for a long period of time for a transmission issue. It did take more time than anticipated to fix for himHis warranty covered thetransmission with a deductible of$The leveling kit that he installed was changingthe angle of the front end and was causing
the axle boots to rub on the control arms andwas putting excessive force on the control arm ball jointsSo we removed the levelingkit which we have here and he is more than welcome to come pick upUnfortunately atthis time we will not be able lo reimburse him his deductible as it is part of his warrantywhich was included at no additional charge when he purchased tllis truckIf he has anyother issues he is more than welcome to bring the vehicle back in

We are in receipt of your letter dated April 1, in regards to ID *** andMs*** *** and Mr*** *** and the Ram Ms*** and Mr.*** purchased the Ram on July 14, with 99, miles on it at the timeof purchaseThe pre-delivery repairs consisted of
brake work including pads, rotors, calibers, parking brake shoes, oil change, filter changes and a breather tubeAfter the repairs were complete the vehcile passed NYS inspection and was delivered to Mr***and Ms***After they took the vehicle they called and said it had a shake in the front end while driving and at that time we asked them to bring it in so we can look at it.They had left on a business trip and we would see them when they get back into town.On about August 19, Mr*** brought the vehicle back for us to look at the front end and the check engine light has now gone onAt this time the vehicle had 121,miles on it and was well out of NYS lemon law perameters but because they called we would look at the front endThey had put over 21,miles on the vehicle, this is what most people drive in years and they did it in daysWe had no records of any maintenance done on the vehicle so we didn't address any issues other then the front endThey should have changed the oil twice and one fuel filter change for that mileage intervalWe had addressed the front end and covered over $1,in repairs on the front end that included wheel bearings, tie rods, pitman arms, ball joints, and a steering dampner, we had also promised new tires for them as wellDuring this visit we had provided the customers with alternate transportation and upon the return of the vehicle it had damage including a smashed rear window which also cost us over $inrepairs for that vehicle. The next time we see the vehcile is on March 7, and was brought in by Mr.***At this time the vehicle had 182, miles on it, almost twice the miles it had on it at delivery, and the front bumber was caved in because they had hit a bear in their travelsMr*** asked us to look over the vehicle and see what the problem isWe had completed diagnosis for Mr*** at no charge and after a partial tear down of the engine we had found the issue to be injector #has failed and the EGR inner cooler has also failedWe gave Mr*** a quote to have the vehicle repaired and he has declined the repair of the vehicle because he believes the dealer should be responsible for the repair. It is our position that Mr*** had accepted the vehicle at delivery and drove it for many miles so the cocerns must not have effected the performance of the vehcileWe have also gone above and beyond helping Mr*** with the front end issue and even after he had damaged our trade we still performed diagnosis for him on his engine concernsThey claim the vehicle has been here for multiple vists but we only have have one work order from July 2015, one from August and one from March The last point is that they state the dealership had the vehicle at Monroe prior to them owning it for alignment repairs, this is incorrect as the previous owner traded in the vehcile but we have never seen it for any prior services with the previous ownersWe have not received from Mr*** or Ms*** any statements regarding check engine lights on at delivery or repair orders outside of the three that we have on record. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.Sincerely.Joe ***

Please accept this letter as our response to compliant ID [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] did have her 2013 [redacted] towed into Binghamton CJDR on 10/15/2015 by Roadside assistance with no advance notice and was told it would take a couple of days before we could work on her vehicle because of our...

previously scheduled customers. After we advised Ms. [redacted] that her vehicle was out of warranty and that any repair shop could look at the vehicle she had a tow truck come to pick it up because our time frame did not work for her. As she stated in her compliant,  she was also advised by [redacted] Customer Care that if she wanted to take it to [redacted] in [redacted], her selling dealer, they could potentially assist her with any out of warranty good will repair. [redacted] Group determines the availability of parts that are ordered by Dealers and which vehicles fall under the provisions of any recalls. If she would like to voice her concerns about the alternator being on back order or the fact that she believes there should be a recall, she can contact [redacted] Customer Assistance Center at ###-###-#### or the [redacted] Recall Assistance center at ###-###-####. Binghamton Chrysler Jeep Dodge should not be asked to reimburse Ms. [redacted] for any repairs due to the fact that we didn't complete any repairs nor is the Dealer in control where Roadside Assistance chooses to tow the customer's vehicles when not under Factory Warranty. Sincerely  Joe D. General Manager Binghamton Chrysler Jeep Dodge

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Their response was full of half truths and a couple flat out lies. I had no choice what dealer my van was taken to and I was told it would be more than a week before they could even look at it. No one ever mentioned [redacted] to me at all, they advised me to take it somewhere else. To date the Mopar alternator my van needed is unavailable so I'd still be waiting (nearly 3 weeks now) had I not gotten it towed somewhere else to be fixed. I do not think these folks understand the severity of what happened to my automobile. It literally died in the middle of the street with no notice. My daughter was in the car with me. It could not even be shifted into neutral to be pushed to the side of the road and it took over 2 hours for the tow truck to arrive, an hour and 20 minutes after the text I received advising the ETA. It is not common for an alternator to need replacement so soon and there is clearly an issue with it as it is impossible to purchase one, they are "back ordered".  I have only had this vehicle 2 1/2 years. It has approximately 47,000 miles on it. This was not the first problem I had, just the most severe - by far. The total cost for replacement was $599.22.
Regards,
[redacted]
