I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
My complaint remains to be the same that at no time was I informed Initially by the sales rep, that was soliciting my business, that the renewal was automaticI am not denying the fact that it wasn't in the contract agreement, as was clearly mentioned in my complaintMy argument remains, had I been informed of this Initially this situation could have been preventedI would like to point out that if this information is knowingly being left out of sales solicitation, it could be deemed misleading or if it's left out by error it can create more complaints likewise I would like to say had this situation been handled in a more respectful and professional manner there could have been a better outcome, anyhow I do hope by my complaint, the sales practice of this business changes, hence other businesses will not fall prey to this lack of disclosure
Regards,
*** ***
Our sales Reps do inform the customers about the renewal terms. The terms are clearly spelled out on the contract and is in the SAME SIZE print as the rest of the contract. There is NO FINE PRINT on our contracts. We require the customer to sign right under our renewal policy...
indicating that they have read and understand the terms of the agreement. This customer signed the agreement. When I spoke with this customer they said they never signed any agreement with us. I offered to email our original copy to the customer but the customer replied" No, I don't want you to send me anything. I will find my copy."Approximately 2 weeks later I received another call from the customer saying the same thing. Again, the customer declined my offer to send the original copy of the contract to them and said they would look for their copy and hung up on me.This was the last conversation between us and now we see this misleading complaint. It's obvious the customer has found their copy of the contract and wants to deny any knowledge of the terms. The customers' ad is in print and cannot be removed from the publication. Company will adhere to the terms of the contract as stated.
No information is 'knowingly' left out of the sales solicitation process. In order to reiterate and confirm what was discussed during a sales call, ad purchase information appears in writing on the contract provided to the customer before signing. In addition to cancellation and renewal policies, this ad purchase information also includes items such as ad pricing, ad size, and where the ad is being placed. ALL of this pertinent information appears above the signature line, which states "I have read & understand Terms & Conditions."
