daycare it is with the understanding that they are paying for that particular spot.  If they go out of town, are sick or take their child to grandma's, they are still paying for that spot.  We have a waiting list of people wanting to come to the daycare and people who are willing to pay for those full time spots.  If we were continually adjusting the bill each time a child is gone for a week, it would turn into a full time bookkeeping job let alone being a poor business practice.  I explain to people that it is like paying for a membership to the gym.  Whether you go to the gym or not you are paying for the spot.  If their has ever been a question about someone's bill we check into it to make sure everything has been posted correctly.  Each parent would also have a record of their payments if they paid by check or credit card. And when they pay with cash they are given a receipt.  Yes, our website does show hourly/daily rates as a means to figure out what the monthly charge will be, but everything we do is on a monthly basis.  We will offer refunds if we are given a two week notice so we can fill that spot.Thank you,Annette S[redacted]Owner
