In response to Mr***'s complaint, Bioworks goal is not turn a patient's account over to a collection agency However, when we receive no response to our mailed statements for the balances due, we sent the accounts to collections for further follow up In this situation we mailed
out four statements: on 9/13/2013, 10/3/2013, 10/28/2013, and a final notice letter on 12/2/to the home address We received no payments toward this balance, no phone calls to our Billing Department to discuss the balance, and there are no notes on his account that we received returned mail(statements) from the home address In January of we sent the account over to the collection agency I have been informed that they mailed Mr*** a letter regarding his collection balance on 1/24/and followed up with four phone calls to him on 1/24/2014, 2/11/2014, 2/28/2014, and 3/27/ After receiving no response, they reported the balance to the credit bureau at the end of March There was no mention of this outstanding balance until 1/25/when Mr*** contacted both Bioworks and the collection agency Bioworks and the collection agency handled the account in a professional and confidential manner We are pleased that Mr*** paid his account balance in full, yesterday Normally a credit report showing Paid-in-Full would be sufficient in order to move forward In this case, Mr*** has requested to have it removed from his credit report Bioworks has instructed to the collection agency to follow through with his request, with no implication of any error on our part or the part of the collection agency. NOTE: The collection agency has informed me that the removal from the credit report normally takes place in 3-days from the request
