I recently sent my blood Biocomp Laboratories for them to review for sensitivity to dental materials. When I received their report, the manila envelope was wide open. I called the company to report this and here is the conversation:

Biocomp: Hi, this is Craig, how can I help you?
Me: Hi, I wanted to let you know I received the report from your company and the manila envelope was wide open.
Biocomp: Oh, yeah, we got a bunch of crap envelopes.
Me: Well, the report was about my health. You may want to tape the envelope shut.
Biocomp: Yeah, well, it just included your name. It's not included under HIPAA for privacy reasons.
Me: It's still personal information.
Biocomp: [Complete silence, like he's pissed off.]
Me: Okay, well, I'm letting you know.
Biocomp: Okay.
Me: Bye.

This is shocking to me that a company that handles sensitive information really couldn't care less about keeping your info private. Use another company if there is one available.
