(Note: the complaint letter incorrectly identifies where the service took place – it lists it happening at Bishops at NW 21st, Portland, OR The incident in question actually occurred at the Bishops at: SW Capitol Hwy Portland, OR 97219) My name is Abner G [redacted] , Executive Assistant at Bishops BarbershopThe account below was transcribed to me by Rob S [redacted] (manager at Bishops Multnomah Village) The client came into the Multnomah Village location 1/15/saw the new prices, asked about them, proceed to get the service a “short cut” (our price for a short cut increased from $to $starting on 1/2/2017)The stylist did his hair During the haircut, the client asked multiple times why the prices went upThe stylist told him it’s not just our shop, all Bishops pricing went up at the first of the yearWhen the client went to check out for the service, he fiddled in his wallet and pulled out a $bill and said “that’s all I got”The stylist was shocked, as they discussed the pricing all during the service, and thought the client was joking as he had asked multiple times about price while he was receiving the service but never once said "I don’t have enough" before starting the serviceThe stylist then told him that she quoted him the price before the service and why didn’t he ask for a Buzz cut ($15) or a Trim cut ($20)? The client continued to keep saying “well what do you want me to do I don’t have any more cash on me”At this point, the stylist called the shop manager overThe shop manager asked him what was the problem and the client repeated the same thing to them as he had said to the stylist: "All I have is bucks, man” very casuallyThe shop manager told him that the service was $and asked if he could put the remainder balance on a debit or credit cardClient responded: “No, so now what?”The shop manager explained that Bishops policy is: “if a client doesn’t bring enough money with them, we require them to leave their ID, phone or something else of value with the shop if they leave the shop to figure out alternative methods of payment” Client responded: “I’m not leaving you my ID, so what's the next step?” and kept on repeating to the shop manager: “What you would do if I where him and what to do to move forward”.Shop manager responded: “Sir I can’t tell you what to do, I do know that most people wouldn’t knowingly go into a place and receive a service with not enough money, it’s similar to a ‘dine and dash’ at a restaurant, and we would handle it the same way, with a call to the police” Client then got more upset telling the shop manager that he embarrassed him Client then responded: “I will be back to pay the rest, here is my debit card not my ID to hold.” The client left and never came back or called the shop back that evening The shop manager then proceeded to run the client’s card for $just to see if it would go through as a chargeIt charged $and the receipt said amount owed $(this is normally prevalent with “pre-paid gift cards” as debit cards don’t show the account balance on printed receipts) The shop manager voided and cancelled the entire card transaction as it became apparent that the client did not have enough funds to complete the transactionThe client called the shop manager the next day screaming at them that “I charged money on his card and he is in the negative now.” The shop manager responded by telling the client that the client never came back and instead of calling the police or banning him from all other Bishops he ran his card for the balance and it was non-sufficient fundsClient then proceeded on with the threats...as outlined in the original complaint to the shop managerIf the client would have let the staff know prior to the beginning of the service that he did not have enough money that day for to charge, and that all he had was twenty dollars, Bishops would have tried to accommodate him But, even with the old price structure, twenty dollars would not

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: there are too many lies in this statement. My partner was with me during this whole event. She's shocked at the response too. Unreal, to be honest. Sincerely,[redacted]

(Note: the complaint letter incorrectly identifies where the service took place – it lists it happening at Bishops at 326 NW 21st, Portland, OR.  The incident in question actually occurred at the Bishops at: 7787 SW Capitol Hwy Portland, OR 97219).  My name is Abner G[redacted],...

Executive Assistant at Bishops Barbershop. The account below was transcribed to me by Rob S[redacted] (manager at Bishops Multnomah Village)  The client came into the Multnomah Village location  1/15/2017 saw the new prices, asked about them, proceed to get the service a “short cut” (our price for a short cut increased from $26 to $29 starting on 1/2/2017). The stylist did his hair.  During the haircut, the client asked multiple times why the prices went up. The stylist told him it’s not just our shop, all Bishops pricing went up at the first of the year. When the client went to check out for the service, he fiddled in his wallet and pulled out a $20 bill and said “that’s all I got”. The stylist was shocked, as they discussed the pricing all during the service, and thought the client was joking as he had asked multiple times about price while he was receiving the service but never once said "I don’t have enough" before starting the service. The stylist then told him that she quoted him the price before the service and why didn’t he ask for a Buzz cut ($15) or a Trim cut ($20)?  The client continued to keep saying “well what do you want me to do I don’t have any more cash on me”. At this point, the stylist called the shop manager over. The shop manager asked him what was the problem and the client repeated the same thing to them as he had said to the stylist: "All I have is 20 bucks, man” very casually. The shop manager told him that the service was $29 and asked if he could put the remainder balance on a debit or credit card. Client responded: “No, so now what?”. The shop manager explained that Bishops policy is: “if a client doesn’t bring enough money with them, we require them to leave their ID, phone or something else of value with the shop if they leave the shop to figure out alternative methods of payment”.  Client responded: “I’m not leaving you my ID, so what's the next step?”  and kept on repeating to the shop manager: “What you would do if I where him and what to do to move forward”.Shop manager responded: “Sir I can’t tell you what to do, I do know that most people wouldn’t knowingly go into a place and receive a service with not enough money, it’s similar to a ‘dine and dash’ at a restaurant, and we would handle it the same way, with a call to the police”.  Client then got more upset telling the shop manager that he embarrassed him.  Client then responded: “I will be back to pay the rest, here is my debit card not my ID to hold.”  The client left and never came back or called the shop back that evening.  The shop manager then proceeded to run the client’s card for $5.00 just to see if it would go through as a charge. It charged $1.40 and the receipt said amount owed $3.60 (this is normally prevalent with “pre-paid gift cards” as normal debit cards don’t show the account balance on printed receipts).  The shop manager voided and cancelled the entire card transaction as it became apparent that the client did not have enough funds to complete the transaction. The client called the shop manager the next day screaming at them that “I charged money on his card and he is in the negative now.” The shop manager responded by telling the client that the client never came back and instead of calling the police or banning him from all other Bishops he ran his card for the balance and it was non-sufficient funds. Client then proceeded on with the threats...as outlined in the original complaint to the shop manager. If the client would have let the staff know prior to the beginning of the service that he did not have enough money that day for to charge, and that all he had was twenty dollars, Bishops would have tried to accommodate him.  But, even with the old price structure, twenty dollars would not
