I saw Dr Labib 5/30/2019 and paid a $60 copay. On 6/10/2019 my insurance paid him and my responsibility was only $40. On 12/01/2019 my secondary insurance paid my responsibility of $40. Before Christmas 2019 I went to the office I gave them my explanation of benefits from my primary insurance and the medical out of pocket expense summary from my secondary insurance. I made copies and left copies with them. I was told they would have a check for me in a week. I waited a month and called in January 2020. I was told someone would call me to correct this within a week. I waited a month and called in February 2020. I was told someone would call me to correct this within a week. I waited a month and called in March 2020. I was told someone would correct this and call me in a week. I waited a month and called in April 2020. I asked to speak to the doctor Because I felt the office staff was not able to process a refund. I was told he was not able to speak on the phone and that they would get this fixed with a week. I waited a month and called in May 2020. I left a voicemail and told them I would wait 1 week before filling a complaint with the medical board. No one called. I think Dr Labib is a great doctor but the staff is feckless at best.

Our office received a letter this Monday dated for 5/5/2020 regarding the complaint id listed above. We have reviewed the customer/patient's complaint. Upon review and checking all of our records the patient was owed $40 for an over payment to which he paid a copayment for an office visit and then a payment of $40 was then issued to us us by his insurance HSA. We did receive notice from the patients insurance a summary of his out of pocket expenses along with an explanation of benefits that was sent to us in December 2019 but it only stated the patient was responsible for the $40. We received one phone call message on 4/28/2020. The patient stated on that message that he had been calling every month in regards to an over payment refund that was owed to him and he was going to be filing a complaint since it was not sent. We have no record of any previous messages left by the patient before that date. On May 7th, 2020 a check for the over payment was issued to Mr. Kabasta and he was notified that the payment was issued out to him. Dear Ms.,
We have mailed out payment promptly per the previous letter to the patient. The check was sent to 81875 Ave 48, Indio, Ca 92201 which is the only address we have on file for the patient. The check was dated for May 7, 2020 and was mailed out that same day. We will be issuing a stop on the check and a new one will he issued out today for $60 certified.
