Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: There is no way this vehicle should have been sold to anyone with the frame in the condition that it is inYes, the dings and dents did not bother us as this vehicle was only going to be used to go back and forth to workWe were told that an oil change had been completed but do not believe this to be true as we are sure they would have been advised of what the condition was of the frameI will take current photo's this weekend and submit for your reviewThen everyone can see how this vehicle is not safe and should never have been sold from the start

were asking $11,for this vehicleThe NADA value on this vehicle booked at $15,due to the condition of the bodyWe marked it at our costBeing a small community we strive to sell only clean titled vehicles and mostly one owner vehiclesThis Toyota that we acquired needed a little body work done to itInstead of repairing the dents and dings, we decided to sell it at our cost and let whomever purchase it decide for themselves.When Customer A came in and looked at the Toyota, we pointed out the blemishes on the Toyota and stated that it ran very goodThe interior of the truck was in average conditionThe exterior was a little roughWe also pointed out that it was marked $3,below NADA value, so that there was equity in the truck for whatever he felt needed to be done cosmetically.Customer A then test drove the TruckWhen he returned, we informed him that we had another Toyota Tacoma in stock that was newer and very clean inside and out, if he would rather have itHe then asked for the price and told me it was out of his rangeHe state that for their needs, the Toyota would work very well and they were not concerned with the blemishesThe customer made an offer and we reminded him of the retail value of the Toyota which was $15,We were already way below book but we would go down to $11,500, As IsWe re- stated that the truck was $4,below NADA book value and that most Toyotas usually bring book value do to their reliability and popularityThe Toyota Tacoma is one of the top vehicles for holding their resale valueCustomer A agreed to the price and purchased the Toyota Tacoma on 4/8/for $11,500.00, in an "As Is" conditionHe walked away with$4,in equity on the vehicle.Two months later we received a phone call from Customer A, that a brake line had broken and they had to get it repairedHe stated the mechanic had said that the frame had rust on it. Customer A also stated that Toyota had a recall on rust issues with some Tacoma’s and that there was a recall on this particular truckWe stated we were unaware of the excessive rust on the frame and unaware of the recall from Toyota It was the first time we had heard of the recall and were surprised by the informationI personally have owned four Toyotas and have always considered them to be welt built and very reliableCustomer A also stated the recall had expired last year and was wondering what they could possibly doWe reminded him that he had purchased it and signed an "As Is"/ No Warranty Document, but we would try to work with himWe told him to call Toyota directly to see if they would still honor the recall on their truck.A week later, Customer A made contact with us stating Toyota would not honor the recall and they would like to return the used truck for a full refundWe suggested that they get a second opinion on the rustWe pointed out that they were not upside down in the Toyota because we sold it to them below our cost and that they had $4,in equity in this truckWe gave them another option of selling the truck at an auctionWe would help them with the process and we would be willing to sell them another Toyota Tacoma at our costWe told them of one that we had in stock and they asked the price on itWe informed Customer A of the price range that they could possibly get out of their Toyota Tacoma; and with the equity they would have in the new Toyota Tacoma they purchased - they still would most likely not be upside down in the truck and have a very nice clean Toyota Tacoma with equityCustomer A stated they would get back to us.With every vehicle we sell on our lot, the customer drives away with equityWe have seen people come in that are upside down in their vehicles from time to time and there is nothing we can do for themWe have a high satisfaction customer base and we lay everything on the table with our pricing

I am rejecting this response because: There is no way this vehicle should have been sold to anyone with the frame in the condition that it is in. Yes, the dings and dents did not bother us as this vehicle was only going to be used to go back and forth to work. We were told that an oil change had been completed but do not believe this to be true as we are sure they would have been advised of what the condition was of the frame. I will take current photo's this weekend and submit for your review. Then everyone can see how this vehicle is not safe and should never have been sold from the start.
