The customer wanted to program existing car key to his car after replacing the ECMI warned him that in my experience this doesn't always work because the ECM holds car info, like VIN from the previous vehicle which gives a fault codeI recommended him to go to the dealer so they can match the

The incident actually happen on 7/17/17 at around 10:57am. He came in complaining about a used safe that we have sold him which are as is. He threaten to call Revdex.com so we refunded him the full amount of $192.00 cash. I have the whole transaction on video even him shaking the owners hand before he...

left. He was never threaten by myself or any of our staff members. The Camera video shows him and his acquaintance calmly waiting for us while we inspected the safe in question. Not once did I even say a word to him and I am Ed who he claims threatened and chased him out the store. I have the video recording that backs up my story.

I am rejecting this response because: The tech that was sent out made a couple of false assertions due to his absolute  inexperience; (a) he stated that if there were a key security issue, an indicator light would appear, I've been servicing my cars and those of others for well over 40 years, and on my model of car the light he mentioned does NOT exist, unless the owner purchased a factory security option package mine does not feature. The tech rep would not acknowledge or accept this fact when I told him. (b) he stated that if If I needed a new key, the starter would not turn the engine. That also is not true- again, the fact is that the starter WILL turn the engine, but the engine will not be provided energy/voltage to the spark plugs/ignition, hence, will not be allowed to actually begin to run.  The tech rep made various other statements that evidenced his lack of experience/knowledge of automotive technology, all within 15 minutes or less, charged my card $107.00 (with tax) and left. It is still my firm assertion that the tech rep was  too ill informed, as well as unwilling to spend any time to perform his job. I should not have been charged for this visit.

Review: I called this company and explained that I installed a new engine computer (ECM) in my car and needed a new ignition (chip key) programmed. They sent an inexperienced tech to my car who plugged his computer into my car and declared that it did not require a new key, there was nothing to be done. He charged me $100.00 and left with no service performed.

Response:

The customer wanted to program existing car key to his car after replacing the ECM. I warned him that in my experience this doesn't always work because the ECM holds car info, like VIN from the previous vehicle which gives a fault code. I recommended him to go to the dealer so they can match the used part to his vehicle to avoid wasted time and expenses. Some vehicles are plug and play , and can just be reprogrammed after replacement but not all. The customer than said he didn't want me to come out and pretend to do something and then charge him the cost of $125.00. I than told him that it only takes a few minutes to do all that I can do on my end and would not sit and there for a half hour to an hour of my time. My tech who went on the service call advised him that the telltale security light was not flashing that lets you know when the immobilizer is active before he incurred any charge. The customer insisted it needed to be done. The tech went ahead and went through the motions of programming the key. The vehicle had the same no start symptom after the procedure was complete, which charged me a token for using my computer that costs me $35.00 ea. The tech felt bad and reduced the charge to $100.00 even after warning the customer numerous times.
