I am a Real Estate agent who listed a property with metal roof installed by Bjorkstrand Metal Roofing, Inc in Plymouth, MN. The buyers' inspector who was not familiar with metal roofs made some roof-related negative points in the inspection report that alarmed the Buyers. The Buyers demanded to sign an Amendment to Purchase Agreement asking to resolve these "issues" (that were not real).
[redacted] took time to personally review the inspection report, then he talked and educated the inspector. This solved all problems without any additional expenses to the homeowners.

Review: Bjorkstrand Metal Roofing installed a new metal roof on my house at [redacted], WI. Most of the work was done in December 2011. The job was completed in the spring of 2012. The roof leaks. There is a 20 year warranty for leaks. I have called Bjorkstrand numerous times this summer to repair the problem. They came out once when I was there and claim to have come out another time. When I inspected the roof on September 12, 2014, it was evident that they have not done anything to remedy the problem. The chimney inspector who also observed the area of leakage felt that the roofing was done incorrectly. Most of the mortar that was applied as a part of this roofing job has cracked and some is falling off. The roof did not leak prior to this work. This problem could also interfere with the sale of this house. There is an accepted offer and closing date of October 10, 2014.Desired Settlement: I would like Bjorkstrand to fix this the leak by using metal flashing and other appropriate roofing materials.

Review: the roof they installed leaked causing damage to my ceiling. black mold has been here for a couple months and is a health issue. I have grandkids that spend the weekends over here and cant seem to get them to talk to me about getting this issue resolved. I have all the paperwork that shows that they have a contract with us that they are responsible for the damage that has been done to my house. I am very frustrated that they wont communicate with me an try to get this issue resolved but for the health of my family I need to. If you could give me any advice or options I would appreciate it. I have told the customer I had a contractor I work with that would look at his problem when he got back from Florida. He got an estimate which is ok but didn't think he could wait for mine before writing a complaint. That's fine also but he forgot to tell you that he removed the roofing before we cane to roof his house. Now I can ask him if he has any pictures of his ceiling before and after he removed the shingles. How would anyone know if he had a leak prior to us installing the roof? Yes he called us back a couple of times but there was long stretches of time in between the calls. We thought the problem solved. Well at any rate I forwarded his proposal to my contractor and he will be looking at it and get in touch with Mr. [redacted]

I have talked with [redacted] three times starting on August 25th 2013 about a damaged area on our metal roof. All three times [redacted] B[redacted] said that he would take care of it but as of this date 10-12-2014 it still needs to be repaired.
