[redacted] came into my shop on 1/13/2015 for an alignment. Before performing the alignment, we check the front end and wheels to insure that there are no issues that would prevent us from aligning the car. We found a left rear wheel bearing that was worn and loose. We notified the customer of...

the problem and told him we cannot align the car until this bearing was fixed. The vehicle also had locking lug nuts on two studs on the rear of the car. The customer told us he did not know this as he only had purchased the car about a month ago. The customer told us to repair the bearing, and remove the locking lug nuts and install new lug nuts that were not locking. The customer was quoted a price to repair the vehicle and he ok'd the job in person in my office. We went to replace the rear bearing and found it seized in the housing. We had to heat the housing with a torch to remove the bearing. While heating the housing, the ABS plastic sensor that is in the housing melted. We had to replace it. We did charge the customer for the part, no extra labor. it is not the technicians fault if a part is seized and cannot be remove due to rust and age of the car. We replaced the bearing, installed a new ABS sensor, aligned the vehicle and road tested the vehicle when we were done. The vehicle went down the road straight, there was a bearing noise heard from the right front of the vehicle. We brought the car back in and put it on our lift. There was no movement in the right front bearing but the bearing was making noise. The reason we did not hear it before we repaired the car is because the left rear bearing was so loud due to excessive wear. Once the left rear bearing was replaced, the noise was very present from the right front. The customer was notified immediately and declined repairs at this time. When [redacted] came to pick up his car, he asked if there was a payment plan available as he could not afford the repairs that he had just approved and we had completed. He filled out an application for [redacted] which offers 6 month or 12 month financing at 0% interest. He was approved for $400.00 from [redacted]. He then complained about the price of the ABS sensor and why he had to pay for the part. We settled the bill after I lowered the price of the ABS sensor to half of what it cost us. The customer took the car and left. He called a few days later to complain about the noise from the front that he claims was not there before we did work on the car. We offered to check the car again to make sure the repair we did was done correctly. [redacted] refused to come back, then took to facebook and online posting to slam my business and reputation. I again tried to reach [redacted] but he refused to return my calls. A few days later I received this complaint through the Revdex.com. I will not refund his money. He is only complaining because he had no money to pay the bill and he is looking to get his car repairs done for free at the expense of a good and reputable garage. If he wants to bring the car back here, I will check the job we did. if there are issues with the job I did, there is a two year, 24000 mile warranty on all parts  and labor at my repair shop only. If he has repairs to this job done at another repair facility, I will not honor the warranty. If you have any future questions or issues, I can be reached the shop at [redacted]Sincerely, [redacted], owner Black Bear Auto LLC

Review: I bought a [redacted] a few months ago and decided I should get an alignment since I haven't had one as long as I owned it. Prior to going to black bear I had no issues with my car. It drove striaght and made minimal noise. I went in for the alignment and the service manager [redacted] told me they can't do it unless I have a bearing replaced that was in very bad condition. He told me it was required so I allowed the work for the 500$ job. I've never has a prior issue or sound in this location but they claim it was shot. During the process of fixing the bearing they broke the abs sensor and claimed it was required to be broken and that I must replace it. The sensor was broken prior to them contacting and telling me about it. After confronting them about the issue they refunded half of the part but I still feel cheated. They then told me that I have another bearing which requires replacement but I refused the repair. They charged me over 750$ and now my car seems to drive more rough than before and I hear a constant noise when I go over 40 mph that was never there.Desired Settlement: I went in with no issues and now I feel in danger when I drive my car at fast speeds and on highways. Please help me seek some sort of compensation so I may take my car to a more reliable garage to have the rest of the repairs done so I feel safe on the out of state trips I have coming up.
